My husband is in VA Nursing Home (Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home). This is a nursing home for veterans, and most of the people there are not eligible for assisted living because they cannot help themselves. It is fine. He has only been there for a month, but so far so good. The food is fine. He doesn't always have exactly what he wants to eat, but it is good food. They have double rooms -- which is 2 people in a room -- and it is not really spacious, but it is enough. They do have activities. I know they have bingo, music, birthday parties for the residents, and Church services.

Richard M. Campbell veteran's nursing home is a great place for family members who are getting up in the years and aren't able to do most things by themselves anymore. The staff is very friendly and they make you feel very welcome. The nurses seem to know a lot about what they are doing with their patients. All nurses are registered and licensed and help patients twenty four hours a day. The facility is very clean and well maintained. This facility also has a registered dietitian for every patient and the meals are made at nursing home. They even have laundry services there that they collect three times a day. The bad thing about this place and all that it has to offer is that the pharmacy technicians are only available five days out of the week. To be able to get into this nursing home as a patient, you have to have lived in South Carolina for at least a year and received a discharge from the military that was not dishonorable.
