"Our mom is on the waiting list at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation-Winchester Place. We liked its locked-down facility, and the patients really seemed very happy. The place was very nice and very clean. In between the two facilities for Alzheimer's they have a little arbor place that has a huge tent to keep anybody in or out, and it was really nice. They had a little bench out there and there's a bird feeder. The second time that I went in there with my mother, they were having dancing to oldies, and they were all there and it was fun. I would give it four stars because it is not me and it is not my home, and I also don't like that they have to share rooms. "

"Very caring staff for my father who had hernia surgery. Admissions staff very thorough and got him in at the last minute for our family. The Social worker is very kind and kept us abreast of his ongoing care and when discharge may be so we could make the proper home arrangements. She also contacted his Homecare providers. The PT and OT staff were exceptional. Chris is an asset to the facility he literally does a little of everything. The food is just okay could be more variety and tastier."

"I was in Canal Winchester Rehabilitation Center, Skilled Nursing & Assisted Living for a month. The therapy was amazing. It was just the personal care you got was bad. I will wait for a half-hour to an hour to have a bedpan put on me. I wasn't allowed to get out of bed, so I had no other option. The rooms were nice for the most part. The upkeep was nice. The hallways and the building itself all looked nice. And it looked like they have been updating some stuff. The manager did come to see me because of the complaints that I had. I think he tried to address them, but they're short-staffed. Their food was equivalent to cafeteria food. They had some activities. I didn't check any of them out because I wasn't allowed out of bed."

"I liked the care, the attention, and the love that the Embassy of Pickerington gave to my dad when he was on hospice services there. The staff was exemplary. The cost was reasonable."

"I was at Solivita of Echo Manor for therapy. They were very friendly, but I got to where I was answering call lights for residents because they were so short staffed. There was one night that all the lights were on, but people just wanted the lights out or a blanket though, so I helped. It was a clean place. I liked that you got meal choices. The activities were awesome. I would participate in the crafts and some planting that we did in our little pots. They had a good activity coordinator."

"My mother is staying currently at Wesley Ridge Retirement Community for her PT and recovery. She is very satisfied with the facility. The rehab floor was more clinical in terms of the accommodations. Her room was more like a hospital room. Recently, she was moved to the first floor because she had to transition to respite care. Then they moved her into an apartment, which I haven't seen yet. They had book club and bingo. When she was in rehab, they would provide her with a menu, and it was fairly extensive and varied. I don't recall her complaining too much about the food. The one piece that would maybe bring their rating down was she had a lot of problems with the television in her room, and it wasn't being addressed. They sent in a maintenance person to try to get it taken care of, but it continued to be a problem throughout the period of her stay. It was only within the last couple of weeks that it was resolved. The TV was really her only distraction, and she couldn't really watch it the way she was hoping to. I was a little disappointed that given the cost of the facility, they didn't just simply replace the TV immediately. There was an effort on two occasions to send somebody to fix the problem though. If I were the one staying there, I would have been a little more aggressive in getting it taken care of. My mother was more accepting of the problem than she should have been. I wouldn't penalize them too greatly on that."

"Really nice facility, very clean and bright. The rooms are private and have their own bathrooms. Staff was very kind and the therapy girls are amazing! Would definitely recommend for rehab!"

"Pickaway Manor Care Center is very nice. Their rooms were set up a little better. I have a person who used to be my client that I go and see there now, and her room is set up very pretty. They also have a nice cafeteria. They eat away from the others, so they don’t eat right there with the ones that are in the rest home part of it, and they are set up in little different areas. Because in the rest home you hear so much hollering and moaning and people crying, but you don’t hear that in most of the assisted living you don’t have that."

"I was a patient here twice this past year. Both of my daughters are nurses so I believe they are not just looking at me as their dad but clinically very involved in my care. They were so impressed along with my surgeon with the wound care I received while at their facility. Doc was honest he didn’t know when I discharged the hospital if more of my foot would be removed and because of them Managing my diabetes and healing my foot that didn’t happen. They have a wound doc that visited me each week and I also seen my surgeon my foot was their top priority. I was very impressed."

"I went to visit Pataskala Oaks Care Center. It was a newer facility in a brand-new subdivision area. It was pretty upbeat. When I walked in, there was an office to the left and an office to the right, and when I looked straight ahead, there were probably 10 patients sitting in wheelchairs all around, and I couldn't find the receptionist. There was a definite odor when I walked in, so that was kind of a turnoff for me. Finally, I found someone and I said, 'I'm here to see Candy. She's giving me a tour.' And so Candy did come out and we kind of waded through these people that were all sitting in this lobby. To get to the skilled care portion of that facility, you had to walk through the whole facility. You had to walk everywhere to get back to where it was, and that was a real turnoff to me. It was not a good feeling for me. The staff was nice. I talked to the head nurse for the skilled care section, and she was nice. They did not have a therapist 24/7. Their therapists were on contract, and they only came in so many hours a day. And so that wasn't even an option for me because my husband needs a respiratory therapist there 24/7. However, even if they had it, I would have not gone there because of the location of the skilled care, the odor and the people just hanging out. I saw the room and it wasn't as large as the one over the other place. They had the blinds closed, and so it seemed like it was very dark. As soon as I walked in, as soon as I got the smell and as soon as I saw the people just hanging out, I closed down."

"I went to look at McNaughten Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and I liked what I saw when I was there. There were a lot of activities going on. There were a lot of people in the hallways, both nurses and residents. There were many caregivers, so that made me think that my mom would get good care there. We walked around, and she showed me different areas that they had. If my mom were to go there, it would be a semi-private room. They do have private rooms available for an additional cost. It's more of like a hospital type. They have a toilet and a sink, but there's a communal shower. They were showing a Tina Turner video in the activity room, so the residents were all gathered around. They do offer therapy. It's more of a traditional nursing home, but they have outside areas and a really large courtyard. They have communal areas with chairs and stuff. Everybody was friendly and nice. The facility was nice and clean, but it's just not home."

"My father stayed at the Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center in New Lexington, Ohio. He had fallen and broken his hip and needed to recover before returning home to my mother's care as she was not able to lift and bathe him by herself. The care was mediocre at the center; they seemed to be understaffed with nurses' aides. They seemed to have plenty of other staff. My father overall had a good experience there, his biggest complaints were only getting to shower two times and week and the cold coffee. I personally found it to be very noisy and crowded. I don't think the patient rooms were big enough and I am not sure how he ever slept because of the loud talking and people making noise. I will say it appeared very clean and I did not notice any bad smells. The staff was friendly and seemed willing to help the patients in any way they could. My father was only there about 90 days and he was certainly glad to get home, because like they say there is no place like home. "

"My stepmom has been in Logan Elm Health Care Center for three days now. She's there for long term. The facility is not as nice or pretty as the other place where she was, but they are updating their building and the wing that they have finished is very, very nice. The rooms are bigger. There are two people in a room, and they're separated by curtains. Two people share the bathroom. My stepmom seems to like the food a lot better. While my dad was in talking with the admissions person, I talked to a couple of people that were in chairs in the hallway and they loved it there. They said the food was great. They have all kinds of activities there. In the summertime, they have excursions outside where they would play with water balloons. They decorate things for Halloween, and they have a lot of arts and crafts there for them to do, like decorating pumpkins. The cafeteria was full and everybody was laughing and eating and getting seconds. The aides were walking around to fill up their drinks and stuff. They have a courtyard, a library, and a beauty salon. They have tables with puzzles. They're upgrading the whole facility. In the hallway where they're upgrading it, they have like really nice big TVs on the walls for people. My stepmom brought her own TV there. She is in one of the rooms where they bring people in and they have them isolated for so many days for like COVID and stuff. They haven't moved her to her regular room yet. We went there the day after she went. They have one nurse and two aides per 20 patients. They have a great ratio there. Their physical therapy department is really good from what I've heard. Most of their staff have been there 20 plus years, so they hardly have turnover at all. The staff is great. They have two different types of mattresses. They have some that are raised on the side a little bit to keep the residents from rolling out of bed and they have others that are completely flat. They'll switch the mattresses out to whatever the resident wants."

"BEAUTIFUL CLEAN AND CARING FACILITY IN ALL CATAGORIES! MY HUSBAND WAS THERE AND THE STAFF AND AIDES WERE SO CONCERNED AND ACCOMMODATING. THE FOOD WAS WONDERFUL AND MY HUSBAND LOOKED FORWARD TO THE MEALS. ALL THE THERAPY DEPARTMENTS WERE WONDERFUL! THE EMPLOYEE NURSING STAFF IS SO, SO GOOD! HOPE WE DON'T NEED A REHAB FACILITY AGAIN BUT IF WE DO THIS ONE IS OUR CHOICE! "
