"My grandma lives here and it's very nice. They have a dog who runs around and keeps the residents' company! The staff are nice. Most of the residents seem to be non-ambulatory which is unfortunate for my grandma since she is still walking without too much difficulty. So she really doesn't have anyone to walk around with! "

"My grandmother and uncle (her brother) both live in VIP Manor in Wood River, IL. Both suffer from Alzheimer's and unfortunately our family does not have the means to house and properly care for my grandmother on a daily basis. It took us a long time to make the decision to put her in a full-time care facility. After having visited many of the nursing homes in the area, we chose VIP. The facility is conveniently located and easy to find. Also, the nurses and staff are very friendly. Prior to committing to this particular facility, we heard both warm and doubtful reviews. However, my grandmother has not had any bad experiences in the place and the nurses always express understanding of her condition. Alzheimer's patients can be combative and my grandmother can get a little sassy, but the staff took it all in stride. Every time I have visited it has been during a movie so all of the residents are watching movie and typically swoon over my 3 year old daughter. I would recommend this place to another and advise them of all that I've heard as well. The decision to commit a loved one into a full-time or assisted living care facility is not an easy one to make. The decision should be well-rounded and take in the positive reviews with the negative. "

"My husband was a resident here. And so was I for a short time. The nurses was great to my husband and I. If they had a problem with my husband they would call me. "Integrity Healthcare of Alton is clean and smells OK. I've just had a little trouble with some of the staff, only because my dad is very particular about what he eats and he doesn't like to tell people about that. I understand that they're busy, but I would like for them to say, "Are you going to eat this? Or should we bring you another one?" When I've gone in, they had a room where some people were watching TV and a gym that they can go in and exercise."

"My father lived in Rosewood Care Center before. It’s a beautiful place. It has a very good sanitation. The rooms are good. Their food is good, my father doesn’t have complaints. "

"I visited a friend at Hitz and was surprised at how spacious the rooms are. I decided to stay and have lunch with my friend and it was actually a pretty good meal. Staff was very helpful and nice. I left when Bingo started seemed like everyone enjoys bingo, there was several smiling faces. "

"Aperion was very nice and clean, and the staff was very helpful. The one thing I liked most about this community was that they have washers and dryers in each of the units, which I didn't see in other communities. They also had several types of units. There were cottage homes which were like little attached bungalows and they also had apartments in one building. They offer a continuum of care so that when a resident needs a higher level of care, they can move them to assisted living or skilled nursing. Should the resident have a short-term need for skilled nursing, they keep hold of their apartments for them. The resident that I spoke with said that the food was really good."

"My husband is in Alhambra Care Center. The staff has been very nice. The food looks good. It isn't up-to-date like the other ones. It's kind of old. They've got him on all the medicines exactly like his other neurologists had him on. They have a dining area. Out in the front, they have an area that they can go outside. I thought the price was more than it should be."

"My father moved to the memory care unit in Lebanon Care Center from another nursing home. In the month that he has been there, my family has been very pleased with the care. While it's not the fanciest, best looking showplace that some other homes are, the staff and personal care that the residents receive have been exceptional. So many homes focus on providing the necessities and forget about treating the residents as individuals. We've been impressed with how they are attentative to the little things that makes life happier for my dad. They show genuine interest in their residents hobbies, mental outlook, and quality of life. Each month they host a family event where they residents can get together with their family and have a good time. July was a "Christmas in July" party honoring Veteran's. They served refreshments, had a wonderful sax player, and gave small treat bags to all the residents. The staff was smiling, happy, and went out of their way to engage the residents in moving to the music, dancing, etc. It was awesome to be able to share that with my dad. "

"StoneBridge Senior Living was very nice. They had individual houses and apartments and a section where people needed assistance. They had four different levels of living arrangements there. I saw one person basically on hospice who needed 24-hour care. They were very accommodating and very nice. The staff took care of me as a visitor. There were about eight of us and they didn't mind at all about us going. The apartments were nice. The room had everything in it including the bed and the TV, and it was nice. There were people sitting in the common area, watering the plants and feeding the birds. It was a nice location secluded and inaccessible from the main highway."

"My mom is at Christian Extended Care & Rehabilitation for rehab. Majority of the staff is fine and very attentive. I just think they're very short-staffed. She doesn't get changed as quickly as I think she should, but otherwise, they are fine. The atmosphere is really good. This is her second time going there. She has a roommate and the rooms are clean and big enough for two people. The dining area is nice and spacious, too. Breakfast and lunch are usually pretty good. Dinner is a little less. They also have bingo and other things that they can go down and participate in."

"Cedar Ridge is by far the best. My husband is a resident of the facility. Making the decision to place my husband in a facility was heartbreaking. The staff was incredibly caring, loving, patient and kind making the transition smooth. We now have an extended family. He has now settled in, and is thriving. Cedar Ridge is the very base "
