My mom has moved into Lawndale Manor. The other places we tried were asking for too much money. Lawndale Manor is very nice. I like that there are nurses on the floor. You can't go around the corner where you don't see a nurse around there. It's a clean facility. They keep it up, so it doesn't smell in there. With a lot of people like that together, sometimes you run into smell. But it's absolutely clean, and they have done everything in their power to make my mom comfortable, and that's all I ask for in any place. We have only been there for two weeks, but anything could change, but my first three weeks there have been good. The food is great. The staff are all great. As for amenities, she gets her hair and fingernails done. They have a sitting room and a library. They go to dinner every night in a big dining hall. They have been good to her. We have been very pleased so far.

My mom lived at Lawndale the last 16 months of her life. She enjoyed her time there with all the inspiration, activities and entertainment they have. Joel Anne and Marianna are the activity directors and are both very loving toward the residents. Joel Anne works around the clock and goes above and beyond to keep them entertained. Mia and her daughter Shae, Keisha, Tonya, Nita, and all the caregivers are extremely patient and caring. Momma loved them all and she made some very dear friends there. When your loved one loses his or her ability to remain independent, this is the best place they can be and still have as much independence as they are capable of. I appreciate all the love and care they gave my mom and I'll be going by from time to time to say "hi" and to show my gratitude. This is where I'll want to be if I need help.

We have selected Lawndale Manor for my mom. It's nice, and their prices beat the heck out of everybody else. I'm happy with it. It's an older place, the halls are not as wide, and the rooms are not as spacious, but with a little bit of ingenuity and imagination, everybody is comfortable. The food is not as delectable as the other community, but it is quite adequate and nutritious. Their food is pretty good. I think the staff does pretty good too; however, there have been some complaints from my Mama, my niece, and my sister-in-law. They have forgotten her on the toilet a few nights ago. There also seems to be a problem in corresponding in what the doctor's want and what their understanding is. They do have activities, but Mama is not really taking part in things like that. They had a Mother's day celebration this past Friday, and every lady in there was in the room for the party. They were having ice cream too.

We're very satisfied with Lawndale Manor. They have an activity room and library, play bingo, and go on outings. Everything is pretty good.

My mom was at Lawndale Manor when she broke her hip. They were actually very good. The caregivers were great. My mother can be challenging at times, I don’t think it was anybody's neglect or fault. I think it was just one of those things that happened. She is 86 years old and frail, and I don't think it was anything that they did. They were very responsive; they called me as soon as it happened, and they sent her immediately to the emergency room. They played games and did crafts, they had daily devotional and church on Sundays which was very important to my mother, and she enjoyed that. They kept an activities calendar and take them out once a month for dinner or to a movie or something like that. Actually, anything that I asked, the manager was always right there and answered my question. I never had a bad time with the staff. I was very dependent upon them to provide my mother with care, and I never felt that they were not providing her with care.

My mom was at Lawndale Manor and the staff had been nice, great and courteous. I was disappointed that they did not have a consistent medical staff that they worked with. A lot of the physicians committed to come but they did not show up on the appointments.
