After my uncle died in 2012, my aunt lived alone for the next 10 years until she was 94. When she started having dementia and needed assisted living, a friend of mine in New York took her around to look at facilities and we chose Wheatfield Commons. I live in California and can not travel do to health issues. The facility is gorgeous. My friends always sent pictures and it looked like a high end elegant hotel. She lived there for 2 years before passing 3 weeks ago. At first she lived in assisted living and had her own room. The administrative staff and the daily staff were always amazing and kept in touch with me, sent pictures and took care of every issue that came up. When the time came for her to move to memory care, I figured my aunt would have a nuclear meltdown but the transition went smoothly, mostly because they know what they’re doing there. I can’t say enough about the activities directors on both the assisted living and memory care side. My aunt thrived learning how to paint, play games, outings and they also had her doing some baking. Also they offered a religious service on Sunday morning that she enjoyed attending. She was more than thrilled to participate in all those activities. And as a strong Sicilian woman, they knew how to redirect and guide her through the days she needed some extra care. I live in California and wasn’t sure how things would work out at first. Being 3,000 miles away, I figured it could be a recipe for disaster if these people weren’t legit, but as the weeks, months and years went by, I knew they cared for her like she was their own grandmother. They called with updates, sent pictures and kept me posted when she wasn’t feeling well. They loved and cared for her. The administrative staff was also amazing. I lost count of how many times I called John, the Director of Sales and Marketing, in the beginning. He always came to the phone and also helped me work out getting help with movers when she moved in, Veteran benefits to help with the cost and other issues I needed help with. He was always so willing to help with anything that came up. I received the same assistance to detail with Christine, the Administrator of the facility. No matter what happened or what I needed, she was there to help and guide me. I have no regrets and highly recommend Wheatfield Commons. This facility was a Godsend to me.

Wheatfield Commons was nice and modern. It was clean. The staff was not so great but overall, mom had her own apartment there, and it was just nice and modern. It's like a hotel. It was very welcoming. Not like these other places. It's just a matter of the staff again. The staff at night wasn't very good. I felt like they weren't checking on the residents like they were supposed to be. She had fallen several times and no one came in for a long time. The dining area was very nice. They did chair yoga, bingo, arts and crafts, and stuff like that. It was just so expensive.

My father moved into Wheatfield Commons. The place is gorgeous. The personnel are very friendly and helpful. I have no complaints. The food is a hit-and-miss according to my father. Sometimes it's good, and sometimes it's not so good. They have daily activities of all sorts, either painting or bingo. They take them on little trips out to restaurants. The care that they give my father is wonderful. They come in, do the laundry, and clean his room. He's got a little GPS monitor, so they know where he is all the time. His safety is a big concern, so they're very good with that. Before breakfast, lunch, or dinner, they come by the room and tell him that breakfast is ready. If the resident could not get down to the dining room, they would bring it to the room. They ask you how often you'd like to be checked on, like if it's every 1, 2, or 3 hours. So they're always keeping an eye on where you're at and whether you're safe. It's a very nice facility with very caring staff. They respond quickly to any issues or questions you have. I have never had to call twice to get a report on how my father was doing. I was very, very fortunate to find this facility.

Westfield Commons is beautiful. It looks like it came straight out of an HGTV episode, warm and welcoming , with several gathering spaces to accommodate a variety of social needs and preferences. There are a beautifully appointed game room for card and board game players, a parlor for quiet conversation or reading, a kitchen for cooking or baking, a larger gathering space for special events , (of which there are a never ending variety) and a charming community dining room. The private rooms range in size from good sized studio apartments to larger, one bedroom apartments all of which are very nicely appointed with window and floor coverings in fashionable neutrals. There are spacious closets and a bathroom with a walk in shower equipped with grab rails. The staff is highly professional, warm, friendly and very accomodating. Best of all, they are in good supply, there at a moment's notice when the residents need them, not under scheduled as I've observed several other facilities. Quality personal care is the obvious top priority at Wheatfield Commons for which my very active and sharp-as-a-tack 99 year old mother, my family and I are eternally grateful. I can't recommend Wheatfield Commons and DePaul too highly!

Wheatfield Commons is a beautiful place, and I absolutely loved it. They have big, beautiful rooms, nice common areas, and kitchen areas. They only have 20 residents in the memory care unit. Its one floor. The grounds are very nice and set back off the road, so its like a country setting. The staff is very knowledgeable. Im on a wait list right now.

We are very happy with what we've seen in Wheatfield Commons so far. The staff members are very attentive and they know what they're doing. We've had no issues whatsoever. It's a new senior place and it looks aesthetically pleasing, very clean, and well-maintained. It's also easy for the patients to get around in because of the way it's laid out, so I 'm very happy with that. They have a beautiful garden outside that they're putting in now since it's already spring. We like everything so far.
