My brother has been in Brookdale Kenmore for a week and a half now. From the onset, when I visited and walked in, I was a little intimidated because it's an urban-like situation, and when you walk in the front door, it's a little bit congested, and I wasn't prepared to like it. But both my brother and I, after being there for less than 10 minutes, absolutely loved the place. It is so conducive to a non-institutional living experience. It almost feels like you're living in a hotel or an apartment building. The people are absolutely friendly and outreaching. The facilities are great. There are opportunities for all sorts of connectedness to the community. There are events, clubs and cards, and whatever. My brother's apartment is a one-bedroom apartment, which is wonderful. Compared to a lot of other facilities, this one has its own heating-air conditioning control, its little kitchenette with a microwave, and all the accommodations you would expect, like a walk-in shower. My brother has been impressed with the food service, and I know every place tells you 'the food is great, and the food is great,' but he can't believe how wonderful the food is here. He loves it. It has a beautiful courtyard, an activity room, and a large-screen TV. It has been a wonderful experience. They have a couple of two-bedrooms and mostly one-bedrooms. Then they have suites which are a large living spaces with a bathroom, but your bed and your TV and everything is kind of in the same area. It's the accommodation that my brother left, and he wasn't unhappy with it, but the price of the one-bedroom here was the same as the suite that he left. It is unlike the rural accommodations that he had where he looked out the window and saw deer and pheasants. But it also offers him the opportunity to get out into a very walkable community with a restaurant across the street, and there are stores and things. He has the capability of getting out and being a part of the larger community as well. I was impressed with how down-to-earth and accommodating everybody was, including the CEO. I don't have any concerns at this point. They're wonderful. I've been most impressed with everybody. The only negative is because it's four floors stacked one on the other, my brother has to use the elevator, and he certainly can do that. That would be the only negative and it has an elevator, but that doesn't seem to be a problem. It's more of a problem for me because I'm impatient and I don't like to wait for it. The facilities are beautiful. The activities look wonderful.

Brookdale Kenmore wasn't a bad place. It would have been a pick a little bit later if we had to. We went around to the different areas in the building, which had some nice little sections set up for different things that they do. A lot of the stuff in there wasn't bad as far as that goes. The staff was pretty good and seemed decent as far as what we could see. We were only there for just a quick tour. We had no problems with that place. They had different church services that you could attend. They have a kitchen area which my mother likes. They can participate in cooking a little bit. They had a couple of rooms that you could meet in. They had a TV room with puzzles in it. The setting and the atmosphere were nice, just to relax. It was a little bit older, and there was a little bit of a smell to it, but it wasn't bad. Everything was all right as far as that goes.

We went on a tour of Brookdale Kenmore, but it's just assisted living so it didn't meet our needs. It was neat and clean. But number one, it wasn't locked down because they don't have memory care there, which is understandable. I felt that it was very big, it was more like a maze structure, so I wasn't quite as comfortable. Everyone was very pleasant, the building was very clean and very nice, it just didn't meet our needs. The room that we saw was a nice size, and it was nice with a window outside. It was facing a parking lot rather than a park, so there's that limitation. It didn't have an inside court, which is a good thing so they can be outside. There's a full bathroom with a walk-in shower, which was nice, it had nice closets, and it was furnished. Overall, for assisted living, it might be something someone should consider. They can take the residents out on trips and things like that. The staff that I met there were very knowledgeable and very helpful.

I toured Brookdale Kenmore. It wasn't as modern and clean feeling as the other place was. The residents appeared to be happy enough, but they weren't as mobile as what I saw at the other place. They did not have any little balconies or any way to just get some fresh air outside without going down into the courtyard. The staff seemed to be very personable and competent. The room has a tiny kitchen area. If you cook for yourself, you wouldn't be interested in that room. They had a place where you could meet your family downstairs if you wanted to. It seemed very dated, but they're an older building, and they don't have very much parking. It doesn't have the same kind of amenities or atmosphere that the other place did, but it seemed like a clean and decent place.

I toured Brookdale Kenmore. I liked it. It was very clean. The residents were all extremely positive about their experience. The facility was beautiful. I was actually with my two nieces, who are 20 and 21, and they wanted to live there. It's beautiful on the outside, and it's very well maintained on the inside. The furniture was all very nice. It reminded you of an upscale apartment. It had nice views. It was just a very nice experience. Every member of the staff that I met, including the person who gave me the tour, was extremely helpful, extremely kind, very knowledgeable, and very gracious. They were all interested to hear what I had to say and what my questions were. The whole experience was incredibly positive. The guy who I met from the kitchen was very, very helpful. Everyone was very kind and very helpful. I didn't taste any of the food but based on the menus, it looked like it was really good. The staff said every Friday, they have a fish choice, which is important because even during lunch, my father does not like to eat meat on Fridays. The staff said they always have fish choices year-round, so I thought that was pretty spectacular. The dining area was meticulous, and it was very beautiful. Everything seemed newly appointed. It reminded me of a country club.

My mother has moved into Brookdale Kenmore. The staff is great. They're still in quarantine because of the virus, and I wasn't allowed to go into the room. All I got to see was the library because my mother had to be brought down to me in a wheelchair. They gave me an event calendar. I'm very happy with the place.

My mother moved into Brookdale Kenmore. It seemed like a good fit, but within the scope the doctors at the hospital said she can live. I can't get in there, but from what I saw through the telephone and video, the staff is very nice, the admissions people were very cordial, and it was a very smooth process. They did a good job. It's a nice facility, it has very good curbside appeal, and from the outside it seems a very nice place. The room was very nice, they set it up for her, and it looked very nice. The staff was very also nice.

DO NOT place your loved one here. Put on a great show when visiting. Rooms are nice. Some aids and nursing staff are great. Most don't care at all. You'll find them in the break room, sitting outside dining room on their phones or out smoking in parking lot. Do your own laundry otherwise your things will go missing or receive someone else's clothes. Housekeeping is a joke. DO that yourself as well. Food is excellent. Chef is amazing. Only good thing I can say about the place. New 'life enrichment ' director is awful. Yells at residents. The best thing she does (saying this sarcastically) is play iPad games or teach iPad use. God help you if your loved one passes there. Mine did and found the apartment in complete disarray. NO help, no respect for family or the deceased.

Brookdale Kenmore was nice. They take you to the doctors and had everything you'd want if you're alone, but it's expensive. The staff was very friendly, nice, and answered all of my questions. Everybody seemed to be enjoying living there. We've talked to some of the residents. The girl who showed us around was very accommodating and very sweet.

Brookdale Kenmore is great, and they are absolutely the best caring people I've seen in a long time. It's very clean, and they clean the apartments once a week; they maintain it really well. It doesn't have any nasty odors. The dining room is beautiful, and the whole place is absolutely wonderful. They helped my mother so much. Everybody is so upbeat, and the people there are so happy and seem to be in such a good spirit. They take them out to doctor's appointments and shopping. They are excellent.

Brookdale Kenmore was nice but having four floors with elevators was one of my draw-backs. Their apartments were big and had nice setups. The people were really friendly, and the staff was really nice. They had a very little parking, which I did not like.

Brookdale Kenmore (formerly Wynwood of Kenmore) was absolutely beautiful and incredible. The rooms were great and came in three different sizes. They were very modern, neat, clean, and state-of-the-art. They all had bathrooms. There were a lot more activities to promote independence. The people were living their life, making their choices and making their decisions. I saw people having lunch in their beautiful dining room, with linen tablecloths and linen napkins, and the food looked wonderful. It was like a restaurant. It was communal dining, but it was elegant.

Brookdale Kenmore was small. The rooms were small, and we didn't really like it that much. The staff was friendly. They were anxious to interest us in the facility, but those rooms were just too small.

This is a horrible place. My mother lived here for a few yrs and every time I went to visit her the place got worse and worse. She complained about it a lot so we finally got her out. The elevator is disgusting & smells like urine, the ceiling fan in it is so caked up with dirt and dust its a wonder it works at all. The carpet and floors are filthy. We have eaten meals with mom quite a few times and the food is horrible. I can't believe they get away with feeding these poor helpless seniors this garbage...cold ravioli, uncooked chicken legs, dried out roast beef, burnt food and the same thing the next day if it wasn't all used up. The cleaning staff DO NOT clean they just go into the rooms when the residents are at a meal and snoop and steal!!! Just ask any other resident. My mother has had many things taken from her room. Nobody should be allowed into the residents rooms if they are not there, that should be common courtesy and enforced. I ended up cleaning my mom's place myself, the dust alone could choke a horse. When she took a tour of the place, it seemed nice and the lunch they provided that day of the tour was very good. I guess the new management and kitchen staff just don't care and that's a shame. Shame on you Wynwood. And in the winter not one day was there any shoveling or snow removal in the parking lot. How the heck is anyone able to maneuver that mess? Such a shame. This place is classified as an assisted living facility but the residents will tell you otherwise. And forget it if your loved one needs help, it takes far too long for anyone to come. The laundry has come back to the room wet on many occasions. All in all, I'm glad we got my mom out of this place. It was depressing enough for her to have to leave her home when she couldn't take care of it anymore then to realize this place WAS NOT the answer.

I have visited Wynwood, and their staff was very good with us when we were there. I did not really see too many activities, but I saw a board on the wall that I was able to scan through, and they have quite a few activities listed. I did not have the chance to check a room, but I have heard good things about them.

Wynwood wasn’t a good facility. It looked liked the people were friendly enough, but my mother-in-law very immediately got claustrophobic. The hallways were narrow; it’s definitely not spacious. You feel -- and she said she felt -- like it was a maze. I saw that the dining room seemed like it was kind of cramped and very little room to move around. I mean they have enough available rooms, and the rooms that they showed us were nice but the actual dining room was very cramped. She couldn’t wait to get out of there. It was definitely not one that we even considered but they wanted something that was close to them, so I showed it to them and they didn’t like it. It seemed like they were nickel and diming for every little thing. Its assisted living, but they have enhanced assisted living depending on what you needed and an added on cost. The people were very friendly, the rooms were nice, and they definitely have different spaces available for people when they wanted the studio. They have a couple of options which were nice, the staff was nice, and the menu looks like they have a good selection available for them. For the amount of people, they really look like they could have had more space. It’s an older building I understand. If you are from an apartment it is fine, but if you come from a house and then you try and get cramped in to smaller spaces, smaller hallways, the ceilings are low, and it tends to make people claustrophobic.

Thank you for visiting and taking the time to share your thoughts about our community. We realize that our rooms are smaller than many expect. Most of our residents are downsizing, which can be a difficult transition. They do not need as many items in our setting, as we provide many items and activities!

I didn’t care much about Wynwood of Kenmore because I feel like it seemed confusing for an elderly person to get around. It seemed old and not up-to-date. It was also right in the middle of the city, so they have no surroundings. It was just like a big parking lot. I didn’t find that it had a nice atmosphere outside or inside.

I like Wynwood. It's closer to my house. They're excellent. They have a lot of activities. They got my mom involved in activities like exercise classes and bingo. They help her with her medicines, too. The rooms are large, clean, and very nice. She can have her own furniture. The people there are very nice and caring. The food is excellent. The dining room is nice, and they have their choice of meals every time.

Wynwood was a nice place, but I thought it was expensive for the care that they provided. The rooms were adequate. My mom was in an efficiency room and it was nice. They just don’t seem to have enough help. My mom would be in her room all day and no one would get her to go to an activity. There were times when she needed to be changed and they just go all day without noticing. The food wasn’t great and the dining hall was way overcrowded. It was not well-managed. I feel like the staff was pressed to get everything done and they seemed overworked. They had good activities there like crafts, music, exercise, and outings.

My mother is a resident here. At first blush, it seemed perfect, in town with beautiful apartments and a gorgeous courtyard, but after several months of living here, it became apparent that the quality of my mother's care was woefully inadequate. WK is expensive, and the return on investment is poor. There are a few staff members that are wonderful, but turnover is high and the management team is not versed in compassion, their focus is 'heads in beds.'

Wynwood is a modern and well-appointed facility. It's license is for an enhanced assisted living, which puts it at a higher level of care than the basic assisted living. It is our choice because it is downtown and not on a suburb. The staff is excellent. The rooms are very nice, well-maintained. I have not tasted the food, but I am aware that it is excellent. They have various activities, but my particular client is not quite ready to participate in some of those yet. They can improve on their system of responding to the calls for assistance by the residents.

We looked at Wynwood and it made a very favorable impression. The staff that we met was very nice. The person who gave us the interview was wonderful. My dad had a good rapport with her. I understood it was in the village and I believed they do a wonderful job with what they worked with. However, it was tall as opposed to one-level. The part that became the issue was just the physical layout and the down side was the way the building was situation. It's all elevators and movability and he wouldn't be able to walk around outside the way he used to now.

I had two basic reasons of choosing Wynwood of Kenmore. One of them was for the advanced medical services they had available and the other was to be able to get my mother an apartment whereas to simply a room. She has a one bedroom apartment. She has a living room with kitchenette and a bathroom with a walk-in shower with a couple of big storage closets. I found the staff very excellent. I think they provide very good care for her. The facility is a very nice one and it's kept very clean and in good repair. They have nice services for my mom. I found the food was okay. Mom has a special diet because she has diabetes and she seems to be very pleased with the food. She thinks it's excellent.

My friend lived there for 2 years. As her mental abilities decreased her care decreased. She was incontinent of urine. If she didn't empty her garbage, the dirty diapers were left in her bathroom. The people in the facility did not contact us to let us know the garbage wasn't emptied. If she wet the beds the sheets were left in a corner. Again staff did not notify us. We took my friend out once or twice a week but did not always visit her room. We finally started coming to her rooms once or twice a week to make sure garbage emptied and linen done. Even after complaints to housekeeping her room was not cleaned. I know she was difficult but again we were not notified that she would not let them clean. My daughter finally started cleaning once a week. We finally moved her out of there. Thought paying $6100 a month for room and diabetic care was a bit much.

Wynwood is really beautiful. That's the one that we chose to go with for my dad. It is very clean. It didn't look like a typical nursing facility where you are greeted with all the residents sitting in their wheelchairs when you walk in the door. It looks more like an apartment building. They have a whole bunch of different options in terms of apartments and my dad is looking at a one-bedroom apartment with a separate bedroom, a bathroom and a kitchenette. We also saw their dining room and it is like an elegant restaurant. They have linen tablecloths and a menu where you can order a meal of your choice. With regard to staff, they were all excellent. They have a big calendar of activities on the wall for the residents to know what's in store everyday. They also have a separate room that have a theater with a big screen and a popcorn machine. Overall, Wynwood looks like a nice place to stay.

Wynwood of Kenmore wasn't bad. In fact, their rooms were even a little bigger and nicer than the other facility, except that it was three-stories high, and you would need an elevator there. My wife would need to have assistance almost in getting up and down the elevator. It's not that they would not be willing to do it. I didn't have any problems with that. She probably could get a room on the first floor if she required or wanted it, but the price was just enough to turn me away.

When visiting this assisted senior living facility I had an experience in which I suspected to have. It was a home for the elderly that is helpful for independent living, assisted living with nurse care, and also Alzheimer's and Dementia impaired seniors. Their physical therapy program is helpful for residents to try and improve their overall physical health and assisting pain treatment. I see these things as very helpful for the elderly men and women of the facility. I observed the importance of companies such as this one. The staff were helpful while I was there visiting with a friend, I saw that a few individuals enjoyed being of assistance, especially those who could do their own small part to help. I think that small things could have been done to brighten up the building and to make it a little cleaner, inside and outside. I would like to go back again with my friend to visit his family.

I give this place 4 stars when i went and visited my grandpa. the place was very clean and well kept. My Grandpa has nothing but good things to say about this place.. seems like a great place to live and i can honestly say would like to live in this place when i am old enough to be administered into a home like this Overall this was a very nice facility. We found the rooms to be spacious and nicely appointed. The staff was very attentive and went out of their way on numerous occasions to make my family feel welcome and to meet our needs. The housekeeping staff does a very good job and our relatives room was always clean and smelled fresh. The food was a high quality and the choices were varied. We dined with our relative many times for lunch and were always happy with the meals. I felt like the activities were on the lean side. they did offer some but that they could have been a bit more varied. Most are focused on medical seminars and the like. The exercise classes were fun for my family member and she also loved getting her hair done at the beauty salon each week. It really gave her a boost. I think this is a top notch facility that seems to do a good job making life comfortable and nice for it's residents.
