The Villas of Manalapan was very nice. It was top-notch. They have everything there. They have a lot of things that you don't even have to leave the premises. The doctor there, they do your blood work. But, you're talking about a sum going to almost $8,000 a month. They have every bell and whistle. It is a little newer, so we're talking about crystal chandeliers and marble floors, and that one was beautiful. The independent living was nice. It was like, you're in your own apartment. We didn't see the memory care because that was on the third floor, but the assisted living, apartments were beautiful. They do your laundry, they clean your room, and the kitchen comes with a refrigerator. One of them came with a heating element, and it came with a microwave. But you don't need it, because, in the dining room, they have something that's called grab and go that you can go into the dining room and get food 24 hours a day, seven days a week. And then on every single floor, there's what they call a country kitchen, it is a large kitchen that is equipped with everything: a microwave, a coffee maker, a large refrigerator. It had food in there. It had a huge, huge table that could fit 10 to 12 people. So you come with your family and you don't want to sit in your apartment because it's small, you could have a little birthday party there. You could order food and sit there. Every floor had a living room and it had games like Air hockey, and games that if you came with your grandkids, or if you wanted you just played with a resident. It had a library, and a theater like you were going to the real movies. It had a gym, it had a salon, and it had happy hour every day at 4:00 pm and real alcohol. And you got wine with your meals, you were allowed one drink and had entertainment. If you could afford it, that's a nice place to live.

The Villas is fairly new. I think it's under five years. It's immaculate. It has a beautiful setting. It's a beautiful facility. It has every amenity you can probably think of. But it comes down to the individual. Like my mom is 92, so how much of that is she going to be able to utilize? It's great for somebody that might be a little bit younger than her that needs assisted living and that can get around because there are multiple areas of entertainment and that kind of thing. There's a spa and everything. It's a beautiful place. It has all that. However, I didn't get that warm, fuzzy feeling as I did over at the other place. The one unit that we looked at had a small college-sized fridge, and then the other one had a full-sized refrigerator and a two-burner stove, but I think you could only use it with certain types of pots or something. The rooms are immaculate there. Everything is beautiful. The setting is beautiful. The staff was great. However, I don't think she was as warm or as endearing as the others. She gave me a great tour. She answered all my questions. She was very thorough, very explicit, and very forthcoming with all the information. But I don't think she was as endearing as the staff from the other place.

We toured The Villas and the place was gorgeous, it's beautiful. They only had one available apartment and it was very tiny, that's the reason we didn't go with them. The staff who gave the tour was wonderful, she was very nice and took us to look at a couple of different apartments. One of the ones she showed us wasn't available, so I didn't understand why she showed it to us because we weren't going to be able to rent it anyway. Everything there was immaculate, but it wasn't going to fit our needs. One of the things we were impressed with is that they have an on-site clinic, and a doctor comes in. That would have been ideal, and that was one thing that I liked. They provided meals, they had a library, a gym, and a pool.

The Villas was very nice. It's a recent build, so it's beautiful. The amenities were lovely. It was a very nice experience. It was very small. We were told that they had availability, but when we went there, they had this one teeny 500 square foot unit available. The other units were very nice, but very tight as well. They had a couple of outside units with outside access and it felt like zero security. Their only security was, "You're supposed to go to the front desk," and that's not security. It had an external door, so if they left it unlocked, anybody could walk in on your loved ones. Especially my grandmother, who is in the beginning stages of dementia, it felt very unsafe with that type of access. Otherwise, it was very nice. The woman we spoke to was very nice. You had to take a COVID test when you got in, so it felt like they had very good protocols, but it wasn't a good fit. The dining area was very nice and wide open, so it very much felt like a huge restaurant. It didn't really have that cozy feel, but it was a nice area.

We toured The Villas, and it was a pleasant enough place. However, the people that we encountered were quite a lot sicker and more disabled than we are, and it just didn't have much of a very cheery atmosphere. I'm not saying that it was an inferior facility in any way. It just wasn't what we were looking for. The person who took us on the tour was very informative, pleasant, and friendly. I don't think we met anybody else except maybe the person behind the desk. We didn't talk to any of the professional staff at all. We just kind of walked around for an hour or so and got a generalized look at the place. They had movies and some card games and probably some lectures, but I wasn't engaged enough to pay very close attention to them. It looked perfectly acceptable. Certainly clean, well-maintained, and attractive.

The Villas was really a beautiful place. It's new, so it's not dated at all. The place was spotless. Everything's very fresh, clean, and shiny. The rooms were beautiful, and all the amenities were gorgeous. The outdoor areas were beautiful too. They had a great looking dining room and a movie studio. Cindy was great. I've been in contact with her since, and she's been very helpful. They're willing to work with me with the prices. Their food is amazing, and they said they cook everything fresh. They don't do any frozen or processed foods. They also don't have a meal plan. She said they individualize it for each resident with the help of the dietician for the optimum health of the resident; that's what I'm hoping for.

My aunt will be moving into The Villas, and I like the setup of it and the new construction. It was very fresh and new. Everything wasn't old and outdated, and I love the decor of it. Mike and Cindy were both wonderful and very helpful. They answered all my questions. They were great. Mike and Cindy were the two people whom I went with to see it, and then I took my aunt. She loved it. They have a movie theater, a beauty salon, and they have a library. They have a lot of different open, quiet sitting spaces, or community space for everyone to enjoy. They have a happy hour every day. They will do trips when everything opens back up. They have beautiful grounds and amenities; the grounds are beautiful. The set up was nice. We saw where they serve the meals, and they have a chef there. They don't do a lot of farm-to-table food.

The Villas was very, very nice. They're only beginning to get residents because they opened right before Covid. They had to shut down again. Right now, there are 25 residents there. They hold a maximum of 95 residential apartments. It was very nice, but right now it's very quiet. It's very clean and very quiet. They have not had Covid issues at all. It's one building that has two wings, and I think it was 3 floors. There was a floor below ground level that had the activity room and things like that. They have different floors. One floor was assisted living and another floor was independent living. We didn't try the food, but they gave us a box of cookies which were very good. The staff was very nice and very pleasant too. They were very accommodating. They had a game room where they played cards, Scrabble, and Monopoly. They had a little stage where they do entertainment. They haven't had that a lot though because of the virus. They had a bar downstairs where they do a happy hour every night or every afternoon.
