My mother is in Brookhaven Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare. It is OK, but not a great nursing home. Sometimes my mother is not comfortable in her room. The set-up is not great for two patients. There are two TVs playing at the same time, and they would be watching at two different channels. My mom can't hear that well because the other patient has her TV very loud. It is disturbing to the next person in the room. Also my mom doesn't like the food; she can't eat it. The therapy is good, and my mom is clean, but she doesn't go to too much activities except for her therapy.

The Place Is A Mess, The Staff Was Very Rude

I didn’t like the staff too well at Brookhaven. They were understaffed, and a lot of the nurses, especially the evening and night nurses or nurse’s aides, tend to be temperamental. If the patient didn’t feel like eating, they didn’t have the patience in understanding the patient. A lot of clothes from the patient kept getting missing. When they clean the patient’s clothes, they would bring them back to the room, but a lot of times, they didn’t organize them in the closet. However, the food was not bad. The actual doctor’s care was pretty good. Most of the time, they took you to individual doctors. A couple of doctors came in too. As for activities, they have television, they have people coming in, and they play bingo too.
