I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father was in transitional care at the Woodbury Transitional Care Center for about four months. The staff there was extremely helpful in taking care of my father. He was needing help in trying to get back on his feet. The physical therapy team worked with him diligently to build up his strength. The room he was in was clean and roomy. The staff for the most part were helpful and attentive. The only drawback was on the weekends as they were not fully staffed which made it difficult to try and reach them when needed. All in all, I think everyone there were helpful and caring. The team did listen to any complaints and would work to resolve them.

I visited this facility

My 95 year old mother entered the Transitional Care unit for dementia patients. She stayed about 1 month. Most of the staff were kind and attentive. On a very plus side, the rooms are private and very large. The staff encourages putting personal items on walls and tables so patients feel more comfortable. Most of the staff are very friendly. On the minus side, my mother did not like the meals. They did not taste good. At meals, the patients were taken to a table in the lunchroom. The staff did not have much interaction with them and the patients just sat there until it was time to be taken back. It was very impersonal. If I rang for help, it would take up to 1/2 hour for someone to respond. The head staff were hard to find or talk to and I finally took her out of the facility.

I had a family member staying at Woodbury care center until he a medical condition that required he be hospitalized. The staff was amazing and we didn't have to worry about the care he was receiving. The place was very clean and well kept. No worries about safety, theft etc. I'm saddened that his medical condition requires a certain machine that they didn't have for him to return.Hes now at a place where the housekeeping is well below what I consider acceptable. I'm also leary of the staff and if they are competent to give the medical treatment that's needed for his condition. I highly recommend Woodbury Healthcare Center for a great place for transitional care or long term care. Woodbury, thank you for being at the top and being a great place for loved ones to have a good place to go during the difficult times in life.

I visited this facility

My brother picked Woodbury Senior Living. It's close to me, and I can visit him there more often. He was very impressed with how talkative and how happy-looking everybody was. They have a nurse that has to visit him first to evaluate him first before he gets to move in. I'm just waiting for that, and then I'll give his 30 days' notice to where he is now, and then move him. The patients were very involved with everything that was going on that day. They came up and introduced themselves to us, and they struck up conversations with us. My brother was very, very enthused about moving there. It was around noon, so they were coming down for lunch, the lunchroom was open, and there were a lot of people coming down. I saw the dining room and the entrance of course. Then we took the elevator up to the third floor and that took quite a while because we kept talking to people as we were going up there and people coming out of their rooms were talking to us. We saw a one-bedroom, which is what my brother wanted. It's much bigger than what he has now. He seemed to be very enthused about it when we were in there. He had a balcony, which he liked a lot. They gave us the April calendar of activities. The staff took it off the wall. They went shopping one day and they went to Mancini's on Friday. They had all kinds of stuff on there. They have religious services, they have a happy hour, and they have a huge room where they meet and greet and have happy hours and meetings. They have exercise equipment, and they have a library. The staff were wonderful.

The staff in Woodbury Senior Living was very friendly and caring. I liked the compassionate thought of your parents not having to continue to move. They would take care of them and do their best to keep them in the same apartments. There's common areas like libraries, barber shops, couches in the hallways, and some places to go outside of your apartments. Many residents seemed happy and very friendly, too.

My mother used to be in Woodbury Health Care Center and I would never recommend that place. My mom hated it. The room was spacious but the help sucked. We've barely seen any of the staff and she didn't like the food. We didn't pay anything, it was covered by insurance.

I am/was a resident of this facility

My wife was a resident recently for 2 1/2 weeks after shoulder replacement surgery at Woodwinds Hospital. She stayed in the Transitional Care Unit Area of this facility and I, her husband stayed with her almost 24/7 during her recovery. The ENTIRE STAFF-YES EVERYONE!! deserves a A+ 5+ Star rating in both their personal and professional manner in which they cared for my wife during her stay. My wife received OT and PT on a regular basis and massages, etc. too!! Each of the following individuals was outstanding in their care for my wife. Paul, Jake, Patti, Charine, Amber, Rhian, Juanita, Marcene, Rachel, Katie, Mary, Kelly, Phelgona, Angie, Ellen, Katelyn (sp?), and there may be a few more that I can't recall there names. The food/meals and the room was excellent for this type of stay and facility. We were also asked to participate in many activities. We also received Ashes on Ash Wednesday and could attend church as well. Needless to say, we were very impressed with their complete services. Hopefully, my wife and I won't need the services of a TCU again BUT if we do, we WILL GO TO THE WOODBURY HEALTH CARE CENTER FOR SURE!!! Thank You and God Bless Each of You !! Jim and Lynda B.

Woodbury Senior Living is the one we like the best and the one that we would go to. It's very bright and uplifting. There were a lot of places for the residents to go. The rooms were small but very lit with lot of sunshine coming into them. They had a separate activity center, too.

I visited this facility

I very much liked Woodbury Senior Living. It was nice. My son and I have lived in the area for nine years, so I always said someday I’m going to go into this facility. I like the location. They have a bus service to go the mall and to movies. That was really nice. I did look at an apartment and almost rented it. They have a nice, little patio that you could sit out like you had a nice porch. The staff member we talked to was a really nice young lady. She was very polite and not pushy. There was a nice maintenance man who's there 24/7, so you would never have something break and not know who was going to come in and shut everything off. That feature was very nice. They had all the things that you would want like a library and hairdresser. It was really nice. They had memory care, transition care, and assisted living, so you don’t have to move again ever.

I am a friend or relative of resident

I moved Mom into the Villa last spring, and she's had a difficult adjustment. However, she's long overdue for a more appropriate living arrangement. The Villa staff are nice and generally helpful. However, the food service is mediocre; apparently food is prepped off-site and reheated; nothing really "homemade"; very few fruits and vegetables; some entrees very spicy; chicken recently served raw which lead to Mom's food poisoning. More than once, calls for help (due to falls, etc.) went unheeded. Last fall Mom had to dial 911 for a trip to ER, and the Villa failed to call me. Instead they called my brother in Texas, and I had to find out from him. There have been a few instances of possible theft (missing items such as cash) from Mom's unit. There's also only one elevator in the building, which I think should be a safety code violation...very bad for those who are unable to navigate stairs. The rent is way too high for us at other places, so what can one do? There's a big redecorating project...who really cares???...why don't they spend that money on better food service for the residents? I'm only rating this three stars and that's generous because the staff are nice...but there are numerous improvements needed at the Villa.

The staff so far at Woodbury Villa are very helpful, nice, and very educated about elderly care. The rooms were nice. It's like living in an apartment with a full bath and kitchenette. Everything you would like in a one bedroom apartment. They have places to go and things to do like bingo and all that stuff.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

This facility is one of the best assisted living buildings that I know of. The staff are compassionate and love what they do. The residents enjoy being there and develop new friendships with residents and staff. This facility goes out of its way to help loved ones feel welcomed every time we are in the building.Thank you to a great building
