We visited South Haven Senior Community in an effort to find a place for our aunt that is close to her present home. She likes her surroundings, the neighborhood and proximity to nearby Minneapolis, where most of her family still resides. The grounds were well kept and the facility very clean. All of the common areas were nicely decorated with easy access. Our grandmother uses a walker - and we could see that she would get around easily. She still likes to be as independent as possible. The foods offered were all nutritious and looked appetizing. The snacks are offered often and residents may request food at any time. The casual and formal dining areas looked comfortable. We saw some visitors enjoying a meal with their family while were were there. All of the residents look like they are well-cared for. The staff is kind and seems to enjoy interacting with the residents. The events and social activities are varied, from exercise to games, computers, the library to outings in and around the community. This is definitely somewhere to consider for our grandmother.
