"My parents moved into Haven Wood in June 2023. Sadly, my mom passed away that fall, and I was initially concerned about how my dad would manage living on his own. Fortunately, he truly loves it at Haven Wood. The facility and rooms are top-notch, and my dad can’t say enough good things about the food — both the quality and variety are excellent. He especially appreciates the willingness of the kitchen staff to accommodate "off-menu" requests, which makes meals feel more personal and enjoyable. While there has been quite a bit of staff turnover, everyone has been exceptionally kind and attentive to my dad, and I’m deeply grateful for the care he’s received."

"We chose Covenant Living of Golden Valley. We liked how happy everyone was, the involvement of people in the community, and the interactions that people had with each other. The residents were just interactive, happy, and welcoming. It just depends which room you get. Some have laundry, some don't, and it depends on the size of the room. But one thing about them, there's a buy-in option, but you can redecorate your room how you want it before you move in."

"I moved my mother to Ridgepointe Senior Housing. It is a great place. She loves it and she's very happy there. The staff is very friendly, they food is awesome, and the atmosphere is great. "

"Benedictine Windermere Way is a fairly new place. My daughter-in-law's mother enjoys it very much. It's very well done and it is very comfortable. It had excellent people running it. The staff was competent and the activities were excellent. As part of their COVID protocols, you have to wear a mask, put antiseptic on your hands, and keep distance from the people. So, they are very cautious with that."

"All in all, I’m very satisfied with Copperfield Hill, which we chose for my mom. Their staff is very friendly, helpful, accommodating and offer a good, positive, welcoming environment. They are always keeping residents busy. There are a lot of good activities, wonderful food, and a great dining experience. The surrounding area is nice. It's a very family-based atmosphere. "

"The rooms are older and small. The care is moderately good. The biggest complaint is that we purchased new comfortable clothing for him and within a week all but one item we purchased “disappeared” never to be seen again. They also “lost” a sweatshirt that was very dear to him. It is obvious that they randomly distribute clothing to other patients as we often arrived and he was wearing items that were not his own. I would be very wary of this place."

"My mom was still living in her own home and she didn't want to go into a nursing home. A lot of the assisted living buildings that have been around for many, many years, although they've been remodeled still have a real nursing home feel for them. But Seasons at Maplewood did not have that. In my opinion, they know what people want. The Ecumen building is only two years old, but it was hand-in-hand with another Ecumen building that was 25 years old. The staff seem great and I have not felt uncomfortable with anyone, from the chef, nurse, wait staff, and the concierge that's there from 8:00 in the morning till 8:00 at night. The main one, Lynn, she wears many hats and she's friendly. Everybody that works there seems to enjoy their jobs. My mother's room is huge. A 2-bedroom/2-bathroom apartment. It's over 900 square feet. I love their food. I've eaten their many times with her. Their price is not that bad, and anytime I want to eat with her, I just go on buy a ticket. And I have not had one bad meal yet, although my mom has had one. "

"I looked at Gable Pines. It was very nice. They were our second choice. The staff members were great. They were very good. They have apartments. They have trips to stores, and they have activities. Their food was excellent."

"The rooms were wonderful, well laid out and surprisingly larger than I imagined they would be. Kitchen and appliances looked exceptional. The lunch was also wonderful and service was great. I certainly did not expect what I encountered at Havenwood. The tour given was outstanding! The staff was extremely courteous and knowledgeable. All questions I had were answered. All the residents I encountered appeared happy and well cared for. The only reason for a 4 star rating, was I noticed some water spotting on the glassware and there appeared to be some notable footprints in some of the common areas. Other than that, it is a wonderful facility and the tour was fantastic!"

"We toured The Lodge At White Bear, and we're going back tomorrow morning. My dad likes the place, so we are just going back to look at a couple of different apartments. The facility was very nice. We had lunch there, and the food was good. The staff member who gave us the tour was very thorough, and we met the RN who was very nice, too. I liked the brightness, the windows, and how open it was. The dining room area was very clean, the apartments were nice, and of good size. My dad has a nurse from the VA that comes twice a week. He will have his own apartment, but he can add on services, and we'll still continue the VA care. Plus they have a VA doctor that comes up there, so we may switch to that doctor from the VA, and he might not have to travel to the Minneapolis VA as often, which would be nice. They have a craft area where they can do different things, and if they want to cook for the group, they can do that too. There's games, pool tables, and card games. After the cold settles down they probably will bring back entertainment, and there's a walking path that comes up to the White Bear Trails, so there are lots of things to keep you busy if you want to be."

"Rose Arbor was very nice. I found it a little difficult to find, but everything was fine. It is a little farther away from my location in Anoka than I am looking for, but it is still within consideration. They are competitive with all the others that I looked at. The staff that I met was fine; there was no problem with them or anything. I think they do a good job."

"Benedictine Living has a continuum of service. My brother-in-law started there in assisted living. And there, they have assisted living units that are furnished, so you don't have to provide your own furniture. They provide all the meals and nursing people come in and make sure you take your meds and they evaluate you initially. So there's a nurse involved to check on you daily. They provide the thing that hangs around your neck, that's like an alarm or as a bell. But it turns out that he doesn't need all the nursing services. They were very accommodating. After the first half of the month when he was there, they moved him to a less expensive independent unit. And they provided him with the furniture he needed to stay there, which was wonderful. At that point, he paid separately for his meals. They had a $1000 sign-in fee, and they even waived to keep him there for a short time. They're brand new and they're right next to the hospital. Their staff couldn't have been nicer. My brother-in-law is very picky, and he thought the food was great. They have activities."

"Keystone is amazing! From the staff to maintenance people, everyone is kind, professional and helpful. I recommend Keystone to people every chance I get. We are thankful for Keystone, we know our Mom is in good hands."

"We toured Oak Ridge Place. What I liked about it was the staff, friendly staff, and very knowledgeable. We were able to meet some, and what is important to us is they have nurses 24/7. We got to meet the person that's in charge of the dining room, which is really nice, and some of the residents. It was just a very pleasant, pleasant place. She took us to three different apartments and stuff, and a very, very nice, very open layout and stuff. I was really very pleased about the way the restrooms were, how much more safe it is for a person to take a shower with all the handles, and the cut out where they don't have to go over a tub, they can just walk into it. It was really nice. I liked the storage area that they had, so it was just a really nice place. They are pet friendly. The maintenance, they're 24/7 also. If you have problems, there's staff there, if you need them for questions. But one of the things that was really nice is that each resident gets one of those alert bracelets or a watch. If something should happen immediately, in the rooms themselves, there's like two or three buttons that they can push for immediate response from the staff there. I love that the mailboxes were indoors and not out. I thought that was really awesome."
