We are in Prairie Bluffs Senior Living. We like it here very, very much. I'm familiar with this area, and I wanted to be in this area, and we were looking for a place that's not quite as large as a lot of them in this area are, and this one has a smaller independent living wing. We like it because we socialize and get to know the people here, and get some wonderful friendships going. It's a newer building. It's only six years old, so it's very clean and neat, and they keep it that way. They're so gracious in helping you with anything that you need. They always get back to you and respond to you immediately. When you call and ask for help, the person you want is at your door, and the service is wonderful. It is in excellent condition, and the layout is very, very nice. Independent living is a little bit more separated than a lot of places, and I like that because we can come and go and not be quite so conscious of people who need more care, and that we are running around, kind of, and they can't. That, to me, is a good thing because I don't want them to feel bad. We have everything here that you could want. If you want something that they don't have, you suggest it. If it's possible, they will add it to it and see what other people want to do, too. We have bingo and cards, and we have a women's group and a men's group. Twice a week, we have a happy hour where we get to go and just sit around and join, and they have hors d'oeuvres, a glass of wine, beer, or a non-alcoholic drink for us. They seem to be very versatile. You pay the month. You don't have any big down payment or anything, and you don't have to have all of the services, and then your rent changes according to that. It's very reasonable and a very great service.

We chose Prairie Bluffs for my mother. It's a beautiful facility, and they have a lot of programs that she could be participating in, and they're going to get the wheelchair to take her down to all her meals because she's 100 years old and she can't walk that much. They're very willing to adjust to everything we need. It's immaculately clean and well-designed. It's a newer building and it's a good-sized place. There's PT available onsite, and they have caseworkers. They have a lot of activities and services. The staff is very knowledgeable and very caring, and willing to do whatever we need to make Mom comfortable while she is there. The menu looked wonderful. The one-bedroom was a nice size. It has its own separate kitchen. It felt friendly and quite calm.

In the time our loved ones have been there we have found that they have a hard time organizing and delivering medications on time, they tell you they can provide services only to find out they didn’t, they have a hard time communication with their own staff on how things should be done, and their respond time when the resident pushes their button is awful. We ended up calling for outside help because staff did not come when the button was pushed, and this wasn’t a one time issue. All in all I know they are understaffed, but when you say you can handle a situation and family is trusting you to care for their loved ones then you must honor that commitment because you signed that you could and are being paid to do it.

The facility is good looking. They are woefully understaffed and the people who are here don't know what they're doing. We are shocked by the amount out loved one pays and the degree of negligence in the care. It is shocking. Our experience is in assisted living.

My uncle moved to Prairie Bluffs Senior Living. They are very helpful. They have all the services that we need. They have a whole calendar of events. They built things around him for his activities and what he likes to do. There was enough there for him to be active.

I lived in Prairie Bluffs Senior Living for three and a half years. The staff was very friendly and kind of knew a lot of our stories. They would take time with us. They would plan really good things to do. We would go on bus trips a lot around this part of the State. It was a bit smaller facility. At one point, I knew everybody. We had a great staff, and the activities were very good. There were lots of people that came in to talk, like about the history of the area. Sometimes it was just crazy stuff, like about honeybees. They had lots of activities, and people would just go in. We would listen to anything. In fact, I spoke at one time about growing up in the South. I had a room full of people because they all wanted to hear about that. We had a couple that were dwarfs, and he spoke about what it was like to be a dwarf. They had lots of singalongs. It was just friendly. We would go to the activities because we were much more middle class people.

I am a resident of Prairie Bluffs Senior Living, and I'm in the assisted living. My daughter picked this out because she wanted me to live here. It's fine. I get my meals, and they bring my medication when I need it. We have some activities like bingo on Thursdays, and then there's a book club that meets every third week. There's an exercise room down in the basement and a beauty shop downstairs. We're having a party today at three o'clock. The food is good, although every day is not as good as other days. The staff is fine.

My Father moved into this community a year ago and we could not be more pleased with his choice. We looked at quite a few communities before he decided on Prairie Bluffs. He liked that it was locally owned, new, and he really enjoys the staff and residents. It is a beautiful facility and we love coming to visit him. Their activity person is absolutely amazing and Dad loves going to her programs, which we did not expect!

Mother in Law is staying there. While the facility is nice the care they give is not. Needed a doctor visit and they were supposed to call prior to appointment and did not. They were supposed to call afterwards and did not. Many more items that make you go hmmmm. Why are we paying over 7k a month for such lousy service? Management is awol or non existent. Find a different place for your loved ones.

Everything at Prairie Bluffs Senior Living was fresh, modern, and new. The apartments seemed spacious, new, fresh, modern, and nice. They had a nice outdoor patio. The dining area was nice and had a fireplace in it, which was nice and cozy.

My mom moved into Prairie Bluffs. She knew somebody there and they were very helpful about getting them connected. The room is very nice. It is brand new and has never been lived in before. They play bingo, which is one of things they have going on right now, and they have small gatherings of three people. They have chairs spaced out for them so that they can still meet together. Based on the cleanliness, the layout, the rooms, and the activities they have available, we like it a lot. I only met two of the staff members and both of them are very helpful and easy going. They had everything that we were looking for.
