Providence nursing home was a decent nursing home. The food was average, the activities seemed redundant and failed to involve many of the residents, and the facilities seemed outdated. In visiting, I found that many of the patients were interacted with very little and were generally neutral on how they felt towards the nursing home. Many expressed displeasure with the rules that they were placed under. Also, the residents on more than one occasion made comments on how little interest they had in the daily activities and how the daily schedule of meals, bathing and occasional exercise was inconvenient and bothersome. The staff however did seem competent and caring, and attempted to address the needs and requests of patients when they were brought to their attention. I did appreciate the efforts to incorporate faith into the everyday life of the patients if they wished to be a part of it, and this actually was one of the positive things that the majority of patients I visited with commented on. Overall, an average nursing home.
