My dad has been admitted here. He is in memory care. He was able to adapt well. He has a nice little studio apartment. There's a TV, bed, and chair. They have nice meals. The facility is only about five years old. It's very roomy. The staff members check on the residents every few hours. They have some outdoor courts where they will take the residents so they could get outside without having to be outside the facility or parking lot. They have six or seven different types of rooms. If you go in, they give you the floor plan of each one. They have an exercise room, they have a TV out in the area where the residents dine, and they have a place that they call the pub. They also have an area where they can go and purchase different types of drinks and snacks if they like, and they have little tables there, and if the residents want to just sit there and have something without being in the main dining area, they can. They have a great program for the residents that are there. I can't say enough good things about it. The meals are limited. They're going to be low sodium and low fat. It's not a gourmet menu, but the idea is that it is suited to the seniors. They have a beautiful parking lot and there is a lot of handicapped parking right near the doorway there. In most places, their memory care is inside of another area. This memory care is a building that stands on its own, so it's the whole building, and that makes it nice, too. In most of the places I've been in, the memory care would be a locked area within the actual facility; however, this one is not. They have karaoke and puzzles. They immediately asked what type of interests my dad has and they try to get him involved. He's very quiet, but they got him out to watch the movie with the other residents right away, and I was very surprised that he's going to do that, so you can tell that he likes the facility.

We toured Canterbury on the Lake. It was very nice. The person that gave the tour was very helpful and very knowledgeable about the facility. We got to walk through from the front door all the way through the dining room and the common areas. We got to see a couple of different apartments with different floor plans. So that was nice to be able to do that. We got a sample of their menu, activity, and calendars, and then we got a packet of floor plans and applications. We got to sit down and have our questions answered. The building itself is beautiful. They're small apartments basically, but they have all the necessities. They have a kitchenette and they have their closet space. It looked clean.

I toured here. The tour was very good. The staff was very nice. The facility was very nice. The décor is themed towards about 1800s Victorian Era England. That was the only facility I visited that had a theme, so the decor was very, very nice. The staff members were very pleasant and very intelligent. The other nice thing they had was that they had a store, a hair salon, and a bunch of other amenities that were all inside, so you never had to go outside. They also had this walking path around the building, so residents could walk around and get exercise outside. That was one of the better facilities I visited. Also, they're the only one that I visited that had a chapel, which was a nice amenity. They had services there, and it's Episcopal. Their dining area was standard. The menu was pretty standard.

It was clean, and they had a lot of that for the clients. I kind of got a good feeling there when I toured them. I had a tour with the physical therapist that worked there, and she was excellent. The building was all right. It was OK. Everything was good.

I have visited Canterbury-on-the-Lake and it is a wonderful community. It is set on a beautiful piece of property with a lake and tons of wildlife. It is important to have a community that offers all levels of care as my loved one can move through each level of care if they ever needed. Canterbury has all levels of care at their community. During the time spent at Canterbury their staff was extremely friendly and seemed very happy to be there. They seem to have a large amount of activities for all interests. I believe exercise and happy hours are just a few of the activities that are on the schedule. Canterbury is a community that I would recommend experiencing and when needed would look to move my loved one there.

I went here. It's beautiful, and the tour was very, very nice. I walked in and I thought I would see a lot of people because it was like 11 o'clock. But they don't really-- it seems like the residents eat in a cafe, which is in another area than the main one that I was walking through. I saw a menu for dinner, it looked like gourmet food. I don't know how it tasted, but it looks a little more outstanding than your regular senior citizen place. It looked very good. I wasn't there at the right time for dinner, but it was very nice, very extremely clean and the apartment itself was very, very nice. It was a little quiet, but on the first floor, they have a library there, and that's where I was interviewed by the one who is in charge. It was a nice library, a quiet place during the day, and it seemed like they played golf around there. They have different games that you can play outside. There are a lot of land surrounding it. So I would think in the future they'd probably build even more. There's areas to walk. I was ready to go back to my apartment, and I stopped a woman who was taking a walk. She said she and her husband had just moved in a couple of months ago, and she said It's wonderful. She loves it there. It's always good to ask someone who lives there. I knew it was nice there, you could tell. However, it's very far from family and friends and also far from the stores that I'm used to. It was just too far.

We visited here, and that was our second choice, but there was no room available. It's an excellent community. The staff member took us on a tour of the place, told us everything they have, and was very open, and very friendly.

It was clean, fresh, uplifting, and felt like a beautiful hotel. The staff was helpful, and there were activities. I saw the library, which had nice chairs and interesting pictures on the walls.
