This facility is terrible. Dirty stained carpeting throughout. the floor in my Mom's room is filthy and the walls are dirty with liquids that splattered. The nursing unit manager is billigerent spirited. Care Conferences are a farce. The nursing manager is always defensive The food is substandard and always cold. Food is served in styrofoam compartmented trays. Male aides are argumentative. care plans are not followed. Male aides are not to perform personal care. They do it anyway. No supervision. Don't place your loved one here.

My mother lived in isolation at Samaritas for four months before she died last week. During her first two weeks she fell four times. Her last fall resulted in a broken ankle with bone protruding. Aides told her to get up and walk. She cried trying to crawl as the pain was so intense. She was held up by two aides and “walked” to a chair. This fall resulted in a six hour surgery. My mother was blind with macular degeneration. When requesting an aide to cut her food she was told “you have two hands, do it yourself”. After surgery she was moved to “The Lodge”. She was repeatedly hollered at for crying for help. Staff buried her phone under blankets and an Afghan on a side table pushed out of her reach. This was done to stop her calling for assistance to hang up the phone as she was too weak. Her call button was either clipped up high on a curtain or not to be found. The room had opened packages of cookies and candy in drawers and on shelves, trash was on the floor and shelves. These items were addressed in care conference phone call between family and staff. The nursing supervisor was belligerent. During the last week of living Hospice recommended PRN drugs in addition to scheduled meds. Despite this Samaritas we’re resistant to administering. Family were allowed to visit two weeks before my mother died and have pictures of our complaints. We were appalled by the neglect and lack of compassion my mother received. This occurred between 10/20 -2/21. We do not recommend Samaritas!

I am/was a resident of this facility
I spent some time in the Lodge at Maplecreek, and I didn’t like it at all. I don’t like those kind of places, but the staff was great, and their work ethics were very good. They have crafts and bingos, and cleanliness was good. But the price is too much.

The staff treats my Father and other patients with respect. They are attentive to their needs (even when they are short-staffed). They are always very accommodating to us when we visit. The Lodge does not have an offending odor as some places I have been.
