I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

They are lucky you have to give at least one star cause they dont even deserve that this is the worst place by far you could ever send your loved ones. The staff there are so under qualified for the care that my mother needed and they even let her fall off her bed and she wanted them to call an ambulance and it took them a hour to do just that. So if you love the person that your thinking about bringing here dont do it cause they are a joke. The rooms are dirty and they stunk over all i would give them absolutely 0 stars.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Horrible experience with the financing director threatened to "discharge" my dad "with or without a place to go" because I wasn't able to sign documents fast enough for her, the whole situation was disgusting and the facility administrator tried to sweep it under the rug and refused to acknowledge what the financing director said or help in any way until I posted my ratings. I have had the financing director and the social worker at the facility both threaten to have my gaurdianship removed for my father because the aren't getting paid by Medicare. I am doing my best balancing working full time and 7 kids so it's pretty disconcerting to be treated so poorly for trying to help my dad out. I find the fact that the only thing they really care about being money and not the well being of my dad beyond disgusting.

I visited this facility

I volunteer my time to play the piano in nursing homes. Last fall I offered to volunteer at Heartland to play hymns on the piano once a month and was treated very disrespectfully and even asked to submit to a criminal background check. I have never ran into anything like this at the other places where I volunteer my time to play the piano for the residents.

Provider Response

Morris, thanks for bringing your concerns about volunteering to our attention. We understand your frustration with our policies and are sorry if it was upsetting. For patient and resident protection, we must follow state and federal regulations about background checks for anyone involved in our facility's activities. Please feel free to contact our administrator for more information or our Care Line.

I am a friend or relative of resident

I found the management to be inflexible and rigid when it came to my input or wishes regarding my healing. The doctor never met with me to hear my thoughts or requests even though I asked several times. Staff was overwhelmed and unable to deliver any of the service and compassionate care that many of them were trained to do. If it wasn't something that the management could bill you for, they did not have time or care to hear it. Calls to the corporate office went unanswered. Staff was generally sincere and genuine but not given the empowerment to do their job. Most had no time and could not do their jobs properly due to short staffing. Do your homework before choosing this facility. I had to contact the ombudsman, consultants and lawyers to interpret the barrage of angles that were played on me when my insurance abruptly quit paying, although I was not fully healed or ready to leave. I was pressured by all of the staff and treated very poorly once they couldn't charge every move to the insurance. The options that I was given were manipulative and my rights were not as important as getting me out regardless of my health. This is a business and should not be considered compassionate by any means to the patients and especially the employees who are unable to do what they are trained to do properly because of the rigid management chasing the buck. They give you the same rights as a prisoner gets. Keep looking.......

I am a friend or relative of a resident

She went into Heartland Health Care Center right after she got out of the hospital. It’s an old place but they did everything for my wife. There’s always somebody around her when she needed help, they paid close attention to her. Our experience was very good with them. We can’t complain about it. If I’d be in one, I’d be in this place.
