I actually stayed at Lenawee Medical Care Facility for a little while. The staff was wonderful and very nice. It has private rooms, and the atmosphere was very nice. It didn't seem to have very many problems. I didn't have any problems with the staff. The food was good. They had good lunches in there. All three meals were good. I was there for about a month. I wasn't feeling very good, so I wasn't into a lot but they had exercise, bingo, and movies. They have a service dog too.

Staff are rude to residents, and often take up to an hour to respond to a call bell (though they turn it off quickly). Many treat the residents as an inconvenience. Terrible place, no respect for your loved one!

I thought the care at this specific facility was above and beyond. The activities was the thing that most caught my eye. The aides made sure that these residents were happy and had a say in their care and daily activities. While we were there they had a parade for the summer that went around the whole facility and two of the residents got to be king and queen. After the parade their was a facility picnic with live entertainment and even a petting zoo. It was nice to see the aides go to such great lengths to keep their residents happy. The care at the home was excellent as well. There was never a call light on more than a couple minutes and you could really see that these aides treated the residents as if they were their own family. The staff is all color coded which makes it helpful for an outsider to find an aide or a house keeper in a hurry. I would definitly reccomend this home!!

I was very impressed at the level of respect, dignity and care of this residential facility. Although the place is a short term and long term care home it offers a seperate addition that is just for assisted living residents. I was happy to see my family member was in her own little community where the other residents were all like family and not mixed it at any time with the full care residents in the other additions. I was very impressed with the set up of the wing as well. Meals were cooked right there in the kitchen with a open bar style window where the residents went up and requested their meal from different choices. There was no meal trays or mass feedings. It was glass dishes, real silverwear and meals hot off the grill just like that at home or a resturant. The Care aides were all very quick if help was needed and the aides were always the same. The aides knew the residents and the residents knew the aides. It was reassuring to know everyday you would have the same three people taking care of you. The activities were amazing. From farm day where they brought in live animals to a real parade that went around the entire building and lasted 20 mins! I would put my family member in this home with no hard feelings or regrets. They are treated with the most respect and everything is designed around them. They even had a queen for the day and she got to be in the parade. Residents here all seemed happy and involved!

I was highly impressed with the level of engagement at this particular facility. They are an EDEN facility which offers choices . Each hallway was like a family. They had their own showers, dining rooms, care givers, activities, parties, ETC. It was not a mass area as some nursing homes or assisted living homes have been in the past. It was very nice to see how each hall had their own sitting rooms and game rooms and personalities among the residents. The staff were usually the same every day and that is nice to have a level of stability for the residents. Nothing was forced. If they choose not to eat breakfast they could get up later and have an alternitive provided for them at request. If they didnt want to shower they were not made to. I liked that it was more about the residents and not the movement of the facility.
