"My mother moved into Murrieta Gardens, a memory care facility. They are very organized, clean, and sanitary. They are very kind to the residents, and the caregivers were exceptionally nice to my mother. They have many activities throughout the day, like different games they play and daily exercise. The caregivers get the residents involved in making sure that they get dressed every morning, and they escort them to their breakfast, lunch, and dinner, making sure they're eating. They also come around to check on them multiple times a day to make sure that they are okay. I tried the food, and it was delicious. We had a snack one afternoon with my mom; it was a peach cobbler, and it was amazing."

"I like Ivy Park at Murrieta because it is newer than the other place. It's only been there for like three years now. I like their vaulted ceilings. The dining room was really big. The community was more updated. There was a little walking path. And even though the room was a single, I liked it. It was nice. However, they only had a microwave in the room. The staff who gave the tour was great. She was nice. They have a big patio outside. It looked decent."

"Park Terrace was a very nice facility. The location was great. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful. Everybody we met seemed very gracious and caring. The place came across as a more luxurious place, also expensive, but you felt like you were getting a high level of quality and amenities for the price. The food looked good. The quality of the service, the interior design, and the property itself were very attractive and in good condition. The apartments were fairly spacious. The fixtures, plumbing, and such were pretty up-to-date. The apartment and the common areas were both very, very pleasant. It's one of the best I've seen."

"Air Force Village West was a much larger and a much older community. The homes were beautiful. The landscaping was excellent. We easily found a couple of houses that we would be comfortable in, but the houses were occupied and we were on the waiting list. They had lots of activities. Everybody was fairly nice and the food was excellent. "

"I can't say anything bad about Vineyard Ranch at Temecula. It was closer to my home, and it was welcoming. It looked very comfortable to sit around the entry, the lobby was wonderful, and I liked the restaurant. My mother can walk down and get any kind of food, any time of day, even in the middle of the night. The staff was wonderful and I couldn't ask for anything better."

"My mother-in-law moved into Brookdale Corona. Even though they may know you, they always check on everybody, so security is important. They have a great facility. I love their hair salon for the residents. Their arts and crafts centers look like little old-school storefronts. The rooms are nicely laid out. They're not too big or too small. The staff is amazing. What I like about it is that they're long-term staff members, so there's not a lot of turnover. I watched them give individual care for long periods, and they have adequate staff every day. There's nobody just wandering the hall, not being taken care of, talked to, or anything like that. I like their programs. They involve residents who are capable of little things like going over their menus. It's not going to change, but it gives them some ownership. The facility is a U-shape, so there's nobody getting lost anywhere. The fact that they do not have showers in their bathrooms is very important for memory care because a lot of residents get burned. The layout of the place is fantastic."

"The Orchards Health Center was fine. Everything was really, really nice. One of the reasons that I didn't go with that is because I wanted to still be able to come back home, but it's more difficult for me in my wheelchair. I have an outdoor wheelchair that has a range of about 20 miles. I can get over there, no problem. However, I have to go over and cross underneath the highway, and to get up into the drive and everything, you have to go on to the actual street itself, and I just didn't really think that would be something I would like to do regularly. The place was nice. I didn't eat there or anything. I just took a tour. It was a lot more expensive because it obviously was an upper-scale place. The staff was very nice. Everybody was very pleasant. They showed me a studio, and it was very similar to the other place."

"My husband moved to MorningStar of Mission Viejo. The interior organization there, they communicate well with each other. The management style is excellent. They communicate well between each department, so it's a very soft touch, but they pay attention to the information about their clients. The facility is great. It's interesting. It's a small building. It's not one of the biggest, most extravagant buildings that I've seen, but the staff is great. The food is amazing. The food is excellent. They do a good job there. My husband is a little reserved. He's not quite interested in that part of things, but it looks like they have a lot going on. They have an outreach program where they're working with the Saddleback Emeritus programming, and they're introducing some classes at their facility through Emeritus."
