"When we went to Pico De Loro, I noticed the people didn't look lively, almost like there was little engagement. I know that they were engaging with them, but maybe it was the setting. They were nice, and it was clean, but it seemed only surface clean. It looked a little grungy and dusty. It had a horrible smell the minute we walked in the door. The person who took us around was nice, and they had a peacock on the ground and a colorful parrot like a macaw bird."

"My mother moved into Murrieta Gardens, a memory care facility. They are very organized, clean, and sanitary. They are very kind to the residents, and the caregivers were exceptionally nice to my mother. They have many activities throughout the day, like different games they play and daily exercise. The caregivers get the residents involved in making sure that they get dressed every morning, and they escort them to their breakfast, lunch, and dinner, making sure they're eating. They also come around to check on them multiple times a day to make sure that they are okay. I tried the food, and it was delicious. We had a snack one afternoon with my mom; it was a peach cobbler, and it was amazing."

"I toured Ivy Park at Murrieta. It just seemed well-kept. They seemed to care about their patients, and I was just impressed with the whole facility. They have a very nice dining area open all day long, which was very impressive. They had a beauty salon there. They had physical therapy there. They have doctors who came in and visited. The staff was very accommodating."

"Brookdale Murrieta had very nice accommodations. The person who brought us around was very informative. I didn't see any staff, but I met the nurse who gave me the assessment. The downfall is cost. It's more like an apartment type. The room I was looking at had new carpeting and flooring. They had all kinds of activities. They had a beauty salon, housekeeping, trash removal, and an exercise room. The place was really good, they had a lot to offer. I did not try a meal, but we had cookies and water."

"My visit was very pleasant at Park Terrace. I thought it was very nice. It had a very pleasant layout. There was a lot of acreage. The people and the dining room seemed very nice. I think the dining room was spacious, as I recall. No complaints about it at all. "

"I am a retired hospice registered nurse. My aunt was a resident at Cathy's Cottage for @9 months. I tried to visit weekly. I would show up unannounced at varied times and days. Each time I found my aunt to be clean, hair combed and with a dry adult diaper. Pain was a chronic issue yet while at Cathy's she denied pain. The staff was always courteous and happy to see my mother (the resident's sister) and me. We were given comfortable chairs and we would be offered a beverage. During Covid, Julie followed the State guidelines and tested visitors appropriately. My aunt died comfortably in a warm environment with caring caregivers."

"I visited Air Force Village and it wasn’t quite what we expected, although it looked like it was a nice place, but it was expensive. You have to buy one of their homes and that wasn’t too good, although that’s opened up for all people now. It used to be strictly for military officers. The staff was very friendly. "

"We're very happy with Citiview Residential Care. It's a 100% match of what my dad would like. They are staffed sufficiently, and all of them are very attentive and professional. We looked at the menu, and I think it suits the clientele. It's a big property with gardens, a big patio, a big front, and a driveway with trees and sitting areas."

"My husband is in Vineyard Ranch at Temecula. We were asked not to come into the facility for the first week to get him acclimated. I took the tour, but I haven't actually gone inside for any length of time at all. I know they're very helpful, polite, and awesome. When he got there, the first thing he did was get up and go find the source of the smell of the food. He walked down the aisle and right into the cafeteria and started eating a whole pumpkin. They gave him some yogurt and some fruit and took care of him. As far as he was concerned, it was great. As long as he gets food, he is happy. He will have a shared room with one other person. Right now, he is alone. The building is immaculately clean. Everyone's smiling and happy. The grounds are nice. He has been outside in the courtyard, and it's gated. He has spent some time out there in the sun, and he enjoys that. They have activities planned every hour of the day. They're not forced to do it, but they're encouraged to. They have group meetings trying to work on the memory and just going over things from the past. They have indoor bowling with water bottles and a whiffle ball. They have gardening, a bunch of different things, and they have a built-in gym right there, which is beautiful and has all sorts of machinery. They have a hairdresser and a podiatrist that come in and a doctor that's there once a week. The staff is very nice. I looked at a whole week's worth of menus and there wasn't one thing my husband doesn't like. I've only seen one floor of it."

"Corona RCFE was very nice, and the people were very friendly. The grounds were good. The room is perfect for my mother who is 92. She just needs a room with a little bed, a chair, and a TV. That's all she needs. It looks like she can go out and go to the dining room area, and things like that, and they have those things available too. The staff who helped me was very friendly and answered all the questions. She was very good. I didn't sample the food, but the dining area was fine. For activities, they have a little room where people can go and they can meet with each other and play games and so on, so that's fine."
