Memory Care Communities in Menifee, CA

"I found Murrieta Gardens for my mother, and she's moving in tomorrow. The new communities offer a lot of new things but for memory care, all those new things didn't matter because people with memory issues need to be with other people, and they don't want to be alone. Murrieta Gardens is more of a close community because it is a smaller facility. They had arts and crafts, a TV room, exercise, gatherings, outings, and small activities for the residents. The staff was excellent."

"My dad is in Pico De Loro. We were looking for someplace that would be fairly close to where my parents lived so it would be easier for us to get my mother over there to visit. I hadn't toured any of the other places, but at the hospital, they felt that my dad needed more than just a place that was going to where he would have a room, where he could be independent because at the stage he's in, he's not able to be independent. So I went with my brother to visit Pico De Loro. It's an older place, but the people there seemed nice, and so far, he's been getting good care. Hospice has taken over, so they're doing a lot of the care. My dad has been there for a few weeks now. He has dementia, but at this point, he's under hospice care. He's not able to get out of bed or do anything on his own. It's what they call board and care. The people I've met have been very nice, very friendly, and seem to be caring. I haven't seen the food, but they puree his food for him. I know they have good meals. They've invited us to come and have lunch sometimes. From what I've seen, they seem to serve good meals for the other people that are there. This is a relatively small place. For somebody that's a little bit more independent, I don't see that they're doing a lot of activities. It's very limited. They have a TV room, and it looks like they have some kind of a room for games. I don't know what other places cost, but I'm sure this is not as costly. It's nice and it's clean. They do the meals, and they seem to interact with the people there. The staff has been there for quite a while, which is a good sign. "

"We have decided on Vineyard Place for my mother. It was brand new, so everything was very clean and very new. The staff was very compassionate and very well educated with memory care. The place was bright and had many activities. They know how to deal with dementia and Alzheimer’s. It was extremely impressive. "

"My husband is in Vineyard Ranch at Temecula. We were asked not to come into the facility for the first week to get him acclimated. I took the tour, but I haven't actually gone inside for any length of time at all. I know they're very helpful, polite, and awesome. When he got there, the first thing he did was get up and go find the source of the smell of the food. He walked down the aisle and right into the cafeteria and started eating a whole pumpkin. They gave him some yogurt and some fruit and took care of him. As far as he was concerned, it was great. As long as he gets food, he is happy. He will have a shared room with one other person. Right now, he is alone. The building is immaculately clean. Everyone's smiling and happy. The grounds are nice. He has been outside in the courtyard, and it's gated. He has spent some time out there in the sun, and he enjoys that. They have activities planned every hour of the day. They're not forced to do it, but they're encouraged to. They have group meetings trying to work on the memory and just going over things from the past. They have indoor bowling with water bottles and a whiffle ball. They have gardening, a bunch of different things, and they have a built-in gym right there, which is beautiful and has all sorts of machinery. They have a hairdresser and a podiatrist that come in and a doctor that's there once a week. The staff is very nice. I looked at a whole week's worth of menus and there wasn't one thing my husband doesn't like. I've only seen one floor of it."

"The location of Maple Guest Home was perfect. The facility was excellent. I liked the patient-to-staff ratio. Everyone was very professional. I feel that they would be able to perfectly supply the need that we need for my mom. They have a place outside. Mom likes outside to where she can be nice and comfortable and get sunshine. I liked the whole atmosphere."

"I visited Brookdale Sunwest and I was impressed by it. It's a large, gated facility. There's a whole lot of assortment of types: they have the apartments, they have little homes that they have sold individually, and they have duplexes which are really nice (which I was most impressed with), and still have all the amenities of their facility. They have the Alzheimer's and all the needs if someone needs to go from there. A lot of people don't want to go to Hemet, and I don't think they are worried about crimes, it's just a little further out, but I will say that is in a nice neighborhood and not in a bad neighborhood in Hemet. They have all kinds of amenities, everything that somebody would want is there. They have parlors, bingo, and everything. I talked to a couple of people who have been living up there and they have good comments; they love it. If I were going to pick one myself and I didn't mind going to Hemet, I would pick this one, because I would want to go into the duplex. The duplex has its own single car garage."

"I am a current Resident. I love being around so many wonderful people. The staff are friendly and helpful. I can drink coffee all day. Very clean and beautiful community. You must see the outside courtyards. 5 plus stars!!!"

"Air Force Village was an excellent community. What I like about most was the levels of care. They are able to care of administering the medication by injection and not all facilities offer that. For me I would always go somewhere that offers that for my parents as my parents are insulin dependent. Everyone was friendly, highly informative and very patient, and the people that were living there were really glad with the decision they made. For my later years, I would go there. "

"My girlfriend's brother is a resident of Hacienda Senior Living Assisted Living & Memory Care. They are good. They have certified staff there and nurses 24 hours. They are caring and attentive. He's a picky eater, and he tends to eat it, but it's a healthy balance. Say if you have diabetes, they have a special diet for people who have diabetes. The facility is very clean. They have an outdoor space with a fountain."

"I went here yesterday. My grandmother said she liked it. It was just super clean and they were really helpful. They were super nice by five and a concern overrating for this place. Everything my grandma wanted was there. She was looking for a community room. It's close to us, to a hospital, and restaurants. It's like in the middle of town."

"The Lakes looked very nice and clean. Everybody looked content. They had trips and lots of activities. The staff was very pleasant, very helpful, and very nice. The scenery was the one thing that I did not like because you looked out the window to a brown field without trees or anything. It looked barren, and I did not like that. "

"I had a great tour of Regency Fallbrook. Everybody was extremely nice and extremely informative. Everything seemed in order. They had grouped amenities, which wasn't to my liking because you don't need them all, but you're paying for them. Having the individual selection was a better deal for me because I could control the cost. It's a little pricy for me."
