Marjorie's Home is a house versus a facility, so you walk in and you kind of feel like you've walked in to Grandma's house. It's not new nor fancy, and it doesn't have any bells and whistles. It is just Grandma's house, and it even smells like Grandma's house, but it doesn't smell like a nursing home. It is a small facility with 6 bedrooms, so there are only 6 clients who can live there. The 2 nurses who worked the day shift are very knowledgeable, made me feel very comfortable, and when I asked questions like "Would my mom be able to bake cookies if she wanted?" they were like "Of course she could!" If she wants to garden, she can go garden, and they would prefer her not wandering down the street by herself, but she won't be locked in a ward. She would have more one-on-one time. I feel like the ladies here would interact with my mom so we could be more present longer.
