Still trying to forget

If I could give a zero I would. If worrying yourself sick about your loved one is what your looking for this is your place. I counted and my brother's diapers were changed twice a day. He couldn't feed himself,, no one was interested in feeding him. In fact, there were times they forgot to even give him a tray. He constantly fell out of bed, yet I was told they couldn't put his rail up at night, or move his bed next to the wall. They finally took away his bed and made him sleep on his mattress on the floor. Water was never within his reach and the water that was there was hot from sitting all day. I'll never be able to forget the nightmare of having a loved one there.

My father was a recent patient at ManorCare. The staff was wonderful, and very caring. The facility was clean, and welcoming. The administrative staff went out of their way to make sure my family was comfortable while visiting. The food was good as well, and there was always activities going on. I would highly recommend ManorCare to anyone looking for either rehab as a short stay, or for long term care. It is close to shopping and restaurants, and easy access to the highway.

Located in the northeast part of the city, Manor Care is a basic, no-frills facility for long term care, rehab stays and a secured, Alzheimer's/Dementia unit. Excellent rehab therapists. You will see them very busy with residents and patients all through the day. Activites and social events on-going; such as Bingo, an ice cream shop and craft/ activities room. Good working with Medicaid clients. Social workers on site to assist with the application process. This is a solid, care-centered nursing facility. The grounds are not beautiful, but the food is good and the care provided is solid. Always check the publice surveys. Every nursing facility is required to have this document available for inspection. Always a good idea. Make sure there are no problems with excessive falls, use of restraints, bedsores or any type of abuse issues.
