My mother spent roughly the last 18 months of her life there, during COVID. During the first half of that period I was very satisfied, but then I felt like the quality of her care went down. I had no complaints about the people working there; the problem was that there weren't enough of them, so mom wasn't getting much attention. To be fair, most businesses have the same trouble post-COVID. Still, there was a period where mom wasn't getting the help she needed; eventually she qualified for hospice, and they took over doing some of what Homestead was supposed to. I also felt like there wasn't enough communication with me, but again, I put that down to their being stretched too thin.

In choosing a place for my mother, we wanted a facility that was caring and compassionate, responsive to resident's needs, clean, and reasonable in price. We found it all at Homestead of Wichita. Mom is in memory care and seems very content. We are happy to have found Homestead.

This is very clean welcoming facility! All of the staff is very inviting and friendly to anyone that comes in! Staff is always willing to help the resident's and their friends and families! The new executive director has definitely brought great things to this building. The activities that my family member participates in are also wonderful! The monthly Family dinners that the facility had been holding for the resident's and there families are also so great! There is always a good turnout! The staff truly cares about these resident's! Couldn't ask for a better place, would recommend to anyone that needed an assisted living for their family.

Homestead had 12 memory care units. I moved my mom there, but they did not have enough staff to the number of residents that they had and for people who needed additional care. As my mother required more care, they admitted they did not have enough staff to help her as much as she need. She had also been falling several times.

I visited The Homestead of Wichita, which was really good. I only talked to one lady and a little bit to another, and they were fine. The rooms have a kitchen, dining room, and then they have studio apartments. They showed us a couple of rooms. The community looked good. The dining room was neat and laid out really well. It was nice.

The Homestead was horrible. They were rude and inappropriate, and they lied about my mother. The environment was extremely nice. I really wanted her to be there. They told me they would not accept her because she did not qualify.

The Homestead has assisted living facilities on both the East and West sides of Wichita in more rural, country type settings. The grounds are peaceful and well kept. Residents rooms are furnished by the resident and their families. They are good sized and have a small kitchenette area. Food is prepared on site and served in a dining room. There is a beauty salon on site, too. They do have an activity director who adds some spirit to the place. Otherwise, it tends to be on the quiet side. This facility was formerly the "Vyne" until the transfer to new management. Downside, as with any stand alone assisted living facilty, as needs of the increase to a higher level, a move will be necessary. This can be unsettling for folks.
