"Juniper Village at Lebanon was very nice. The ladies were nice. It was a spacious apartment square footage wise. It was nice, clean, spacious, and well kept. I couldn't even see where the nail holes were on the walls after they painted it. I was impressed. The layout of the place was nice for my wife and I, who need separate bedrooms. The staff was excellent."

"I thought St. Martha Villa was good. My parents were not 100% for it, so it was a very short visit, but I thought it was a good place. The apartments were not furnished, they were just empty, but they looked good. The receptionist and one other person were very positive. It was a short visit, more like an hour maybe, and one day. I just saw basically the room, the reception area, and where they eat. The dining area was nicely furnished. It wasn't eating time, so I didn't see what they were eating."

"We have our name on a wait list at Chestnut Ridge at Rodale. We were welcomed. It was nice that we ran into people that we already knew. They have a lovely pool. One of the biggest positives about Chestnut Ridge is that everything is in one building. You don't have to go outside to eat or anything like that. There are many outdoor activities, like walking paths. You can walk into town on a nice path. They have gardens. We're not going to go into anything less than 1200 square feet, so they were all around 1400 square feet. It has an open concept, and nearly every room has a balcony. No problem with parking. If you want to be undercover, you'd have to pay extra for that. We did eat lunch there, and that was great. It's a fairly new facility. Compared to some of the others who have really established procedures and all that, Chestnut Ridge came across like a new facility, with people kind of learning their jobs and that kind of thing."

"My dad moved into Country Meadows Retirement Communities. He doesn't want to be anywhere except his house, and he has not adjusted fully to it yet. It's very nice. We took a tour and we went in several times. His room is nice and good size. The location, I think, is fine. He has no complaints about the place, and we don't either. They take care of him, and they check on him. His blood pressure spiked a few times, and they caught that and took care of that right away. They talked to the doctor, changed his meds, and that's under control now. They assist him with whatever is needed for dressing and things, and I think they're doing what they said they will be doing to help him. So far, we've been very pleased with it. They have a fitness director and an activities director, and I think they're trying to keep him involved with things."

"We are on the waitlist at The Highlands at Wyomissing. We have to wait until they have the apartment that we're interested in. It was beautiful, well cared for, and clean. We have a friend who lives there, and he's very happy. The person who toured us was great. She took us around to a couple of apartments. She gave us all the information. They're building a new building. She gave us the information about that and answered all our questions. We've eaten there twice. We ate there once in the dining room with our friend, and then we ate in the luncheonette another time with him, and they were both very good. I think they have a fair number of activities. They have a swimming pool and a gym. My friend has gone to a few things, like a Fourth of July party, and he went into some kind of a musical program, too. "

"I will move into The Residence at Village Greens. I liked it a lot. It's very nice. The people are nice. The rooms are beautiful. They're very modern and cozy. I tried their food and it's very good. They have a good chef. The facility itself is beautiful. They really take care of it. It's all decorated for Christmas now and it looks beautiful. I think the people are their best feature. They're very friendly and upbeat, and so is the staff. They're very nice, too."

"I visited Edgemont Terrace Apartments and it was rundown. The doors and windows were hanging. They only had shared one bedroom apartments. The woman I talked to smoked in the office and it smelled horrible. "

"We visited Furnace Creek Manor because we knew someone who lived there. It was like a regular apartment where you cooked your own meals. The place was very secure because no one could get in unless allowed by the residents. There was a community room where they did the activities. "

"We have chosen StoneRidge Poplar Run. We both visited personal care and health care. My aunt will be living in personal care. The facility is very nice and well-kept. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. There are activities planned that are appropriate and seemed to be fun. My aunt went with me; both of us toured it. They have therapies if you need them, crafts, singers or music entertainment that comes into the facility. They have movies. The rooms are very nice. They have a small refrigerator. There's room for personal furniture like a recliner. They have bathing facilities there. I like the design. There are four wings that go off where the dining room is and where the activities are. They would have swimming pool access and access to even more activities. They're not just limited to what's available in their area. They have other options as well. The staff that I met were friendly and knowledgeable."

"My parents are both in assisted living. The staff is consistently above and beyond in kindness, cheer, work ethic, professionalism, and general helpfulness. The other residents, primarily from the Plain community, are personable to the best of their abilities, inclusive of newcomers. Not every room has a view, but the surroundings are of gentle farmland and seasonal flower gardens. Rooms, lounges, gym, library, meeting rooms, porches, and outdoor walking areas are attractive and clean. My parents’ one complaint is lack of fresh food, which seems inexcusable when farm stands are visible from the campus and produce auctions are nearby. But nary a fresh strawberry, peach, bean, pea or watermelon slice has crossed their plate this summer, for shame."

"I had been interested in Garden Spot Village for a long time, so I was really excited to get a chance to see one of the cottages in person. It did not disappoint! I also looked at some apartments and all of those were really exquisite as well. "

"Grandma preferred to be at Lutheran Home at Toptom. She was there in the past for nursing care. The facility is very homey and very clean. The dining room is very nice and they also a little store inside their facility called the Front Porch and you can take the residents to have a cup of pudding and that was nice. All the staff are very friendly. "

"I visited Tel Hai for my mother, and I had a friend there also. It has 3 levels of care, from independent to full nursing, all on the same community. I think it's a wonderful community. I eat dinner there once a month, and the food is great. I didn't see a lot of organized activities, and it turned me off. The dementia care unit was so large, I thought my mother could get lost there."
