I am a former resident there. all departments except maitinance are ae to a little over average. you have to write in the log to get anything fixed 3 or more times or call corporate. they are truly trying to update the rooms. they have redone all shower rooms. when I left a little over a month ago they where having the the elivaters worked on. social services have a good group of people working for them. I hope they keep this group. cause this is the highest turn around department next to nursing staff.

This facility provides a mix of long term care with a strong mental health component. It includes a secured floor that provides care for persons with chronic mental illness. It is situated in a safe area on the outer region of West Chicago in a large parking lot next to a major busy intersection. There is no easy way to go for a walk from the building without traversing a large amount of interconnected parking lots and navigating the major thoroughfares first. Outdoor space is quite limited. The interior of the building has somewhat of an institutional feel but is generally well maintained and clean. The lobby is tastefully decorated. This is a larger facility and it would be nice if there were more common areas for the residents and families to relax other than the dining room locations on each care floor. Rooms are average to slightly above average in size and most are shared. Many residents in the facility smoke, and though there are designated smoking areas, the smoke smell is noticeable in many areas. The food is average; nothing to be excited over but adequate and sometimes good. Staff are skilled and provide appropriate and compassionate care. There is typically enough staff to meet resident needs. As psychiatric oriented facilities go this is one of the nicer options.
