My mom was in River Birch Living for a while. It was in a beautiful location. It was a very warm and homey environment. It was very clean. The staff was very friendly and very helpful from what I saw. My mom didn't necessarily feel the same way. I thought the care was good, but she didn't feel the same way. At the time, there weren't many residents in there. She was doing much better than she is now. She wanted more activities than what there were. They did bingo, and there were little games that they play. My siblings and I thought the food looked absolutely amazing. They were chef-prepared meals, but she didn't like it. It was in a beautiful location, so the views were beautiful. The room was very nice and very clean. The place itself was well-maintained. They had outdoor areas and indoor areas. There was also a family dining area.

My mother was in River Birch Living. It's a real nice home, fairly new, well-kept. Again with COVID, all their activities have been restricted. There was not a lot going on there whenever I was there. The food seemed fine. I did notice a lot of turnover in staff. They were a little harder to deal with. I wouldn't always be able to get through on our phone lines and stuff like that. Phone calls were within a day or so. I'd have to call and remind them to call me back. There were three different homes. They would get them combined once in a while. They bring in support animals, do some arts and crafts, and things like that. Typically, I think they would go out and do some field trips. However, with the lockdown here in Illinois, they just couldn't really do a lot of that.
