"It is new, so everything is fresh. The rooms are also the same. The person who assisted us during the tour showed us around and explained everything. She was great. They had a place for therapy, and we saw people coming back from going out for breakfast. The dining area was very pleasant, and supposedly they have a chef."

"I've had my dad for a short stay at Evergreen Senior Living - Orland Park. We were very happy with it, my dad has no complaints. It's a newer facility, around five years old, so it was new and everything's updated. The people seemed to be loving and caring and everything seemed to be in order. The staff seemed to be very caring, and there was a nurse who made sure that my dad takes his medication. They seemed to be very thorough and it was a beautiful facility. During the few times I was there to visit my dad, they have groups of people doing activities. They had a TV in a common room where they were singing along to songs and doing different things for memory care. They're working with the people there, so they weren't just sitting in a chair doing nothing. They weren't any more expensive compared to anyone else, they were the average price. They have a beauty salon available on the premises and they have an outdoor terrace that they can go out on."

"We did 2 different tours at Brookdale Orland Park, the first time we're very impressed by the place. When my wife and I first visited, it looked really good. They had things going on for the residents, like they had music going on at the time and residents were listening to different kinds of music and reading what they had. This place is one of our top 3. I took my in-laws there and it was right after their Christmas party, but I wasn't impressed with how the place looked after the gathering. It seemed they had more of the memory people out in the lobby area than the assisted living people. So there were a lot of people that kind of didn't know where they were, and it was kind of uncomfortable. They have transportation and a salon, but they didn't have a pool."

"We choose Arden Courts for my father. They do the latest research with dementia. They have wandering trails, and they let them go outside. They don't use psychotropic drugs, they don't have chemical restraints, and they don't stick them on the top floor and not let them come out. "

"My mother is in Prairie Green for three months now. Right now, I have some concerns. I have gone to management and talked to them about them, and they seem to be working on it. She is unable to remember some things. She needs to be with some of the clients to get acclimated to make it a little bit more familiar and more livable for her. I've had some issues as far as her medications and getting all her medications to her. I've seen the meals and the menu; I think they can do better with them. It's appetizing enough, and they have fruits and vegetables. The training of the staff could be a little bit long term. The screening of the people could be a little bit better. Everybody is not fit to work in a long-term care facility like this or assisted living because they don't have the compassion for older people. She has had a fall since she has been there, and nobody knew she fell. She had gotten up after she had fallen. The next day, they had taken her to the emergency room. When they need to talk to you, they have no confidentiality. They talk out in front of the receptionist or in the waiting room. They don't pull you to the side. "

"My husband is now a resident of The Cottages of New Lenox. I chose it because I live in New Lenox, so it was proximity. The food is very good. He is on a pureed diet. The staff is very good and very pleasant. The place is very clean. My husband's room is a good-sized room. The dining area is nice. It has a lot of windows, so it's very well-lit. The walls have pictures and things. It's decorated nicely, so it's a homey atmosphere with the decorations on the walls and such."

"My mom is at Sunrise. I think it is a wonderful place. They are very, very hands on. We like this facility. We like the treatment she is getting over there. Food is very good. We like everything about the place -- the food, the service, and the atmosphere. It is really a nice facility. The staff is very attentive and very helpful. "

"We visited Arden Courts of Palos Heights. They engage the patients in something that they can remember from the past, like old songs. The staff was very professional and very caring. They had separate areas where they can sit and listen to the radio, and if the weather is nice, they can go and sit in the patio. They had a garden that they can go and work in. I didn't eat there, but the dining area looked nice. "

"This is a wonderful campus with independent living in one or two bedroom apartments. This community is faith based and my parents have really enjoyed settling in to this place and it felt like home to them immediately. They travelled to Florida recently but could not wait to get back "home". They enjoy the food and the fellowship with other residents and are proud of their apartment and allow it to be showed to prospective clients at any time. My siblings and I have piece of mind that our parents are safe and are well cared for. There are other services on this campus including assisted living and skilled care if their needs change. I would highly recommend Victorian Village!. "

"Residences at Deer Creek is a new facility. The rooms are nice and clean. The light is good. However, they do not furnish their apartments, and you have to bring your own furniture. Also, they don't have a kitchen. They have a dining area, where they have a wait staff that will bring your meals to you. You have a menu for the meal, and you choose an entrée, a side, and a dessert. All of that is included in the cost. "
