I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I had a grandmother that was at Cascadia of Nampa on a Medicare stay. The staff was very kind and caring. Food was good for a nursing home. Therapy department was above par. They worked hard to get my grandmother out in the limited time molina was willing to cover her. Cascadia of Nampa was very clean and without bad smell. The room was clean and well put together as grandma arrived in the facility. Anita enjoyed working with the activity department with coloring, diamond art, bingo and card games. One night they even had a large movie projector, and popcorn. Admin staff are knowledge in their career field. They went above and beyond to work with insurance to help my grandmother have a few extra days of rehab. I am grateful for the care provided to Anita and will be a return customer if the needs arises. Thank you Cascadia of Nampa.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother stayed at Cascadia of Nampa. I'm quite happy with that one. They have a rehab side and they have a long-term care side. It's a very large place. It is not a homey place like the others would be. It's very institutional, but they had good facilities. They had a large exercise room. The rooms were very nice. They had single rooms with their own baths and they had shared ones where you have to share the room and the bathroom. My mom had a problem with her roommate. They would make noise and this last gal she had to be with, in order to get her to the bathroom, they had this machine that would pull her up off the bed and carry her into the bathroom. She was totally helpless. She couldn't move at all and she would kind of make noises through the night. They were very well staffed. It was a nice place, and we liked it when we first brought her there. After a while, you find out certain problems that a large facility has. They weren't consistent in keeping the rules. Some of the residents who are able (might have been wheelchair bound), could go out and smoke their cigarettes; yet there were "no smoking" signs all over the place, inside and out. One particular guy said he was the president of the residents' community. He would just barge in my mom's room and take her cookies. Plus they had a guy running around and my mom was I guess on his list. He wanted to do things, and he even proposed marriage and talk dirty to her. Since we found that out, we talked to the staff about that; he was restricted to his side of the building. She was in nursing care. She had the full treatment there, and she had rehab. She had everything. It was a very expensive place, but it's very nice and almost brand new. I knew several of the staff, and we got to be friends with them. They were all very nice and professional. I didn't have a problem with that at all. She had a phone in her own room. I think it was an excellent place, but when my mom told me "Get me the hell out of here" I wasn't quite sure what the deal was with her. I guess she just didn't like it there. It's a very large place, and she probably didn't get the one-on-one attention that she kind of demands. She's never happy. They were fully staffed medically. They had a doctor, registered nurses, and CNAs. I can see why they would have to charge a lot of money because they had a lot of people to pay. Mom couldn't use the exercise room, but they had top of the line of everything there. It's an excellent place if you have the money. If you're poor, then you don't stay there. I would rate it less because it's a big place.
