I had a scheduled visit at Brickmont of West Cobb. The facility was fine. They had a lot of places for the residents to go and do things, but I never saw any residents out and about. As far as I was concerned, I was looking at an empty building. The rooms looked nice. They were nicely furnished, but these were not residents' rooms and stuff. Everything looked nice, but I didn't see anybody out and about enjoying any of the benefits. I looked at the menu. It was at 4:00 in the afternoon, and I had expected them in the kitchen preparing for dinner, but I didn't see anything. I know that they had a place to do physical therapy, they had a beauty parlor, they had their dining room, they had another area for fitting, and there were places where you can go sit outside on a terrace

Our mother became a resident of Brickmont West Cobb this past February 2023. She is in memory care. She has received adequate care from the staff at Brickmont. We have never registered a complaint about her care. Our problem is with management. From the beginning, we have had problems with billing. Their business model is structured so there is absolutely no one that can help with the problem. Responses from the business manager at Brickmont are e-mail billing or I don’t know. This has created friction between our family and management. This has resulted in a termination letter. Let me say that our mother is a model resident. She is a gentle soul and absolutely not a problem for staff. When asking the general manager for a specific reason for the termination, she will not provide a reason. Her response is simply, we can no longer care for your mother. What kind of people kick a 93 year old woman to the curb because they’re angry about an unfavorable review written about the management. We were also asked to remove that review by the PR director at West Cobb facility. These people are unprofessional, unethical, and uncaring. Do your homework before placing a loved one here.
