"My mom was a resident of Holly House for 8 years until she passed away a year and a half ago. There are just 6 people in the care home. The facility was like a ranch style home with a home-like environment. The caretaker is 24/7, meals are always prepared, medicines always dispensed and the washing, cleaning and caretaking of the individuals were always good. The home was clean as well. I have eaten there on special occasions too. They had some activities coordinator come by and do different games and arts and crafts. They also had a minister come by. I had no complaints during the eight years my mom was there. "

They had a little courtyard area and a relaxation area. This facility was located near restaurants and grocery stores."

"I had a nice tour of Golden Rose Personal Care Home and they were very friendly people. It's a smaller location, there's only about a room or two available right now. They're mostly shared rooms. Other than that, it's an overall nice environment. But the shared room's beds are close to each other, you can reach over and touch the next person. That's kind of what I did not like about that. The person who gave me the tour was amazing, Diana, I believe was her name. The bathroom in the room is not centrally-located, so you have to walk across the other person to get there. The room that we're looking at had a sliding door with a nice patio which. It'd be better if it's all split to the middle so they'd feel more comfortable walking into the restroom or outside, and not being in the other person's space. It's a family-owned location, and all around for the price, which is $2400, it's good. It's a personal care home, so I didn't see any nurses around, but they had staff there. They had a whole board of different activities that they do like bingo, and they have a schedule of activities. The facility is great, but I think they can do a better job with the layout of the room. They're limited to rooms depending on co-ed or not co-ed."

"Oaks At Towne Lake is a new facility. I like the fact that they had wall pictures of all the veterans in the hallways. My dad's a veteran, so that was good because there are a lot of the veterans who are prideful and proud of that annunciation. There are a lot of people that are happy and engaged, people that were walking around that were residents there. It just seems like a pretty happy life for these people. Their staff was awesome. She was very thorough with everything. We spent a lot of time going through, and she didn't even get into pricing until the very end, which usually is a good telltale. It's not just about money. She was very thorough in explaining everything as far as the facility and what they have, talking about even the physical therapy rooms and the barbers that come on-site every Wednesday. She was extremely accommodating and asked a lot of questions about my dad, the status he was in, and what he would need. She was very engaging. They were great. The only thing I didn't like about the rooms was, there wasn't a separate bedroom. It was kind of a partition, so it has a hotel feel to it, almost. I would say that was good, but not great. I was looking for something that was a separation of bedroom versus living room. That was probably the one thing I'd say was below par, thinking about my dad and what his thought process would be. It was very well maintained. They had rails on every hallway to accommodate the elderly because they can keep them stabilized. It was well kept, and it's a newer facility, so it had a more modern feel to it and was cleaner than an older facility."

"My dad has moved into Camellia Place Assisted Living & Memory Care. I like the total package of what they offered. They were all very friendly and supportive. They seem to be very well and very good staff. They have some sort of activity every afternoon and a couple of nights a week, they have some sort of thing they do. This place is very different because there are five houses, and each has a maximum of 16 rooms. So there's not one big courtyard or room or auditorium where they all meet. So there's a maximum of 16 people in each building, and there's a staff of two in that one building that handles just those 16. So they have a common walk area, gardens, and everything, but most everything is individualized in each building with no more than 16 patients, because they have a little secured garden area for each one. Friday night they had some sort of outdoor entertainment thing that my father commented on was really kind of surprisingly good for him."

"I met with a woman named Michelle at Bellevue Village at Neese Road and she was phenomenal. She was very kind and empathetic, but not overly. She gave me the tour and the facility is very clean. The staff was interacting with the residents. It was very nice. Now they're under renovation and it's their memory care area that was getting it, but I can look ahead and see what their vision is and I think it'll be very nice when they're done. They had a very open dining area and it seemed to accommodate activities as well, which is a good thing, because then you have a lot more activities going on. They had a courtyard that was very nicely fenced. It had large trees beyond that. So, it gave a feeling of being kind of in the country or outdoorsy, which is something my husband needs. It has a nice little walkway. Everything seemed very secure. Their menus looked very good. There were a lot of smiling faces when we were there. Everybody spoke to me and they would excuse themselves. Like if they were talking to a resident, they would tell them first that they were going to talk to me. I thought that was a nice touch."

"Parc at Piedmont was very elegant building, well maintained, and clean. It's a lovely place with nice landscaping and good amenities. They had a nice indoor pool, outdoor pool, and movie room. The staff was friendly. I highly recommend it."

"Aspen Village was the one I recommended to my father. I really liked it, but he chose another place. Their grounds, dining area, and whole place were super nice."

Did a virtual tour and things looked nice. We were only able to see the main lobby area due to Covid rules. It honestly looks like a ski resort lobby."

"My wife is at Ridge Manor Residential Memory Care - Canton. The layout is fine. It's clean and well taken care of. They've got friendly staff. She is comfortable there. The food looked very good to me. Ridge Manor is not perfect, but they're good. It's extremely clean. It's more than I can afford, but it's a lot less expensive than other places I looked at."

"My father-in-law is in here and so far, we like it. The cleanliness is fine. The staff seem to be friendly and knowledgeable. He seems to like the food. They have people upstairs and downstairs, with more activities for the people upstairs. "
