My mother had a stroke over ten years ago and has been a resident here for some time now. This place goes to crap then a new admin comes in and cleans it up for a little bit but then it goes right back to crap again. My mother has been sick for at least a min of three weeks now and the excuse I got was she didn't communicate that she wasn't feeling well. If they staff actually did their jobs they should be able to figure out that she has been sick.

My wife went to Whispering Oaks, and my impression is that they attempt to take good care of my wife. They give her a round of nursing care, as well as physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and she is improving, which is a good thing. I have seen the food on many occasions, and it looks fairly good, and wholesome food. The staff seems to be attentive and caring. I'm particularly impressed with the therapist, the physical therapist, the occupational therapists, and speech therapist; they have all really impressed me.

Whispering Oaks is a pleasant surprise about three months ago I had to place my husband in there care, I was very scared, but the professionlism of the staff has eased all my fears. There is one member I would like to draw attention to is Ms. Delilah, Whispering Oaks is very lucky to have such a kind and considerate person in there employ. You have exceed all my expectation, the efficiency of the staff both the one that caaregiver and the adminstators and a joy to interact with. Thank you all for all you do for my husband I am very grateful. Shirley Bood.

Whispering Oaks was wonderful to my brother. When I left with him, they all came up to me and thanked me for allowing them to take care of him. They were excellent. My brother was there for three months. He had his therapy completed, his needs were met, and the people were kind and conversant with him. They enjoyed him and he enjoyed them. The nurses and administrators were great and wonderful. I wouldn't hesitate to put him back there if he needed that level of care. The food was great and wonderful. It couldn't have been a better place. He was beautifully treated, the place was clean, the staff was friendly, and the medical care was perfect. I was pleased.

Please find a different nursing home if you really care about your relative! Due to financial problems and issues with my mom's health we had no other option but to have her at this place. The smell of urine and feces hits you in the face right when you walk into this location. I had to put some type of fragrance on my nose before entering the building to mask the odors. Although some of the staff tried to make her feel comfortable and seemed friendly, their medical back ground was very questionable. Their lack of care while handling dirty underwear and immediately after start setting up the table to change her feeding tube WITHOUT gloves made me doubt everything else. Countless times I found my mother bathed in a pool of liquid from the feeding tube that had been misplaced and had been leaking for hours (not exaggerating). I had so many bad experiences at this place that I'd need a notebook to write them all. Please please please, do not put someone you love at risk of catching diseases or bacteria for their inexperience or straight up lack of sensibility to treat another human being with dignity. Sometimes life puts us in a position where there are not many choices to choose from, but if it's in your possibilities to be selective, let this place be out of your list of options.

I hate to put my brother at Whispering Oaks because a man defecated in front of me. I was there for about 2 hours, and nothing had been done. When I left, the floor was still dirty. What he has on his leg is a little thing that they sell you and the minute that person walks out the door, an alarm goes off. It saddens me because they did that. Where they have everybody locked up, it smelled like everything you can think of. The bathroom and the room smelled a little bit. It’s cleaner than the back part, but still they could do a better job because people were just standing around. Where he is at this section now is not the filth. You have to go to the back to see the people pee on the floor and do whatever they think on the floor, and they leave it there until somebody complains about it. He’s right in front of the nursing station, and there are 4 beds because they cram the beds in there. You only have room for the night table that separates the bed and curtains like in the hospital and that’s all there is. It has a bath for 4 people, and it has a tiny TV in the middle of it. If you sit down, your knees touch the bed next to you. The nursing staff is good. They’re nice, kind, caring people. The rest, including the office is not that great. Sometimes some of the nurses have to yell and scream. That’s the only thing I don’t like. The food is very sad. They steal his clothes. Every time I go, there are somebody else’s clothes in my brother’s closet but not his clothes. One time they told me that they need to sit down with me to go through the papers and that hasn’t been done yet. He was there from January to the end of February. I finally signed the papers for medical help in February that I had to go back and sign admission and discharge papers because I had never signed a first paper. I despise the place. It’s not a place for anyone to be. I cry when I leave there because my brother doesn’t deserve it.

The nursing facility was very clean and professional. Great customer courtesy. The people living there were also very friendly and well spoken. The service they provided for one of my family relatives was appreciated. Overall the Whispering Oaks nursing home facility was an amazing experience for me and my family to visit our family member living there under there supervision. I would recommend anyone with a family member that needs assistance living to choose Whispering Oaks located in Sarasota Florida to visit check the location out because I know from my experience that it is one of the greatest places to be if you need assistance. Also the expenses are very little as well which makes it 10 times better also. The insurance company worked well with them to make it little to no pocket money spending. Which overall is a great place. Thank you for taking your time to read my experience with Whispering Oaks.
