My brother is at The Residence. It is memory care, but he's in hospice. They take good care of him. They pay attention to his needs. Kimberly and the other girl are very, very nice. There are several of them in there that are just like my brother, and that means a lot. It's nice. It's got a tongue and groove ceiling that's in an arched position. They have a big eating area with several tables and chairs. They have a chef on-site at all times. The facility is clean. They seem to be on top of everything. They've been good. He gets three meals a day, he's able to sit and eat it, and he says the food is good. It's the cheapest place I've found. I feel like he's getting what he pays for. You always think it's a little high, but it's cheaper than any place else I have been to see and visit. They help out with everything. They give him his medication, they give him his bath, and they change him. If they need feeding, they feed them. They pretty much handle everything. They get him dressed in the morning. I think they deserve a five in all categories.

I visited The Residence at Pensacola searching for first level kind of memory care for my mother. It smelled, and it was filthy. It had patients in the dining room for lunch who looked so drugged out that their heads were falling off the hospital beds. They brought them into the lunch room, and their tongues were hanging out of the side of their heads. It was horrible. The residents in that place were filthy, and the place was not sanitary at all. I don't want anybody to be put in that place. I didn't have a whole lot of interaction with the people who work in the place, but I met and did the tour with the owner. I did not get a good feeling from him at all. There's nothing redeemable about this place. It was horrendous. It smelled like a sewer there. It was awful, and I don't want anybody to be exposed to that. They had very expensive, double rooms. They want to put two patients per room and charge a premium price for it. It's too expensive, especially for the care they give the residents there.
