The staff at AVANTE have made placing our mom in a rehab the best experience. In just one week the staff showed me how to care for her when she returns home. We previously had home health nurses who never once showed me how to properly care and move and help my mom get stronger. The staff at AVANTE did so much in just a weeks time. The PT and OT staff are working so hard with my mom. She is getting stronger by the day. We are looking forward to her returning home. The nurses have been tentative and loving everyday. You never have to search for a nurse. They are always right next to your room. The staff around the facility have been kind, genuine and very helpful. The cleaning crew is always in my moms room making sure everything is just right. We've been grateful for the staff, especially the CNA's who have been teaching and guiding us. The care our mom is receiving at AVANTE has been wonderful and we would recommend them.

This place is horrible, my aunt sometimes didn't receive 3 meals a day, her medications were never given on time or not at all! She never complained, but I think she was afraid to. I cannot believe that they are still allowed to operate their business with a state license. She had a cold, but there was no kleenex so they gave her the brown paper towels that they use to dry their hands! Unbelievable! I live out of state and I really fear for her well being. They told her that her hemoglobin was low and that she needed to go to the hospital for a transfusion, that was 2 was ago, she still not had her blood transfusion! And the reason why her blood count low was due to her not getting her weekly injection to keep her blood count up! No one ever returns my calls about her care. I manage a lab in a hospital so I know what government regulations need to be enforced and I cannot believe what goes on there. Just disgusting!

My mother was placed here after breaking her hip. In the short time I visited I saw another patient fall at least three times. The nurses seemed unconcerned. My mother's care on weekdays was mediocre at best. The care on the weekends was atrocious. She laid in a dirty diaper for who knows how long. She was able to go to the bathroom herself with assistance but no one would help her. She slept in her clothing overnight on the weekends. I don't think she was ever bathed in the approximately 3 weeks she was there. The head nurse was unempathetic to our concerns. Due to her dirty diapers, she contracted a urinary tract infection, got sepsis, was admitted to the hospital with an 89 degree body temperature and died. I believe she'd still be alive if it weren't for her terrible care at Avante. If I could give them 0 stars, I would.

a disgrace to the medical field. i was a patient there for some time receiving nothing but disgusting food, poor rest, poor conditions and mixed with people who had mental issues, not a good place to heal. i lost 30 lb while there. i warn people not to put a loved one in a place like this

Aventa of Melbourne Florida was a terrible experience for our family. Some caring nurses of course, But the overall treatment by the overnight staff was totally unprofessional. Yelling at a 78 year old retired, caring RN is a horrible experience I'm sure. We reported that incident and others and we're unable to get any satisfaction. If you can avoid it do not go here.
They should be ashamed!

Avante, Skilled Nursing facility in Melbourne, Florida is filled with people who are uncaring, selfish and rude. There is a constant lack of supplies for the patients, the place is always filthy and the administration is not available to help in any matter. They are only concerned with collecting a paycheck. I have never seen such an unorganized, neglectful and unhealthy place in all of my life. Administration allows patients to yell in a demented state for hours and disrupting everyone with F words. They do not address UTI's or other infections in a timely matter. Staff is discouraged from collecting appropriate lab work. Please do not trust this facility for any care for your loved one. They deserve better than that!

Although an older building we found the openness nice for our Mom to be watched since she has fallen at home. The rooms are small and cramped but the outside yard is not only nice and tropical but you would never realize you are across from the hospital. They need to put some money into upgrades but what they lack in modern offers they make up for with loving staff.

Caring staff for the most part. Overworked, Building needs major remodeling, almost a tear down. They still have "wards" something I have not seen in decades. For profit company more worried about stock holders profit the patient care.

Avante was supposed to be a five-star facility; however, I got put in a room that was like a closet. What they had done is take a single room and put two beds in it. It had not been refinished. I was right by the common area, the door was open and the woman next to me was a screamer. I was told when I got there that night that I didn't need to worry about it because I was going to be moved in the morning. However, when the morning staff came on, she said that that's not true because this was the only bed they had available at that time. I did not feel safe in this facility because my bed was a gurney and they did not believe in side rails for beds. For most of the night, they had the bathroom closed off with a chair in front of it. The bathroom was not really appropriate for someone using a walker. It was small and disgusting and we shared it with a room next to us. That one bathroom was shared by four people and that was not cool. That place was awful. It was supposed to be a five-star facility, but I would never ever recommend anybody to go there. I got out of there really quickly.
