My mother moved into Golden Orchard III. She's had a lot of issues, and they're working through it. As far as I know, they've been good, and they're the only place to take her dog. They worked with me to get her in there. Out of 18 places, they were the best. She has a single room, and it's in a very nice neighborhood. She's starting to interact with people, they do activities, they sing, and they play bingo. There's only 8 to 12 residents, which I thought would be best for her because it makes it more personable and more at home. I think the staff has been great. They're trying to understand me and I try to understand them, but for the most part I think we all understand what's going on. They're working on her medication 'cause mom's had a couple of really bad mood swings. Nobody goes in there wanting to leave their home, so I'm working with Elisa who understands that who is a nurse, and she's excellent with my mother. Mom's getting better. They've readjusted her medication to help her, and they're working with her cognitive needs, so thus far, it's really been good. There's a few people that may not understand dementia in the way the nurses do, and there's been a little bit of miscommunication with the staff. I try, but there's a very, very strong accent. I can understand a strong accent, but some of them I can't, so they just give the phone to somebody else. I haven't had any bad interaction, so far, with the staff. Most of the staff are a 5. There's just one person in particular that needs some work. I think that's common, but we're working on that together, and maybe she's new, so I'm giving her a 3.
