I am a resident of Crossroads at Northglenn. The community varied by a lot of those older and younger men and women. The grounds are well-kept. The grass is always mowed. There's a nice gazebo in, so there's shade, and there's roses and different kinds of flowers. So it's pretty. It seems like there's a lot of staff turnover, and I'm not sure why that is. It's hard for the rest of the staff and it's hard for the residents, but we do have some good staff, and they're friendly. They take an interest in you. Mostly it's good staff. There are some Bible studies. There's a Catholic Church service. There's a kind of a sing- along Christian event that's held on Tuesdays. There are exercise groups. There's a book club, and they go on outings occasionally. The food is pretty good. They have an alternative menu so that if you don't want what's on the regular menu, you can choose from something on the alternative menu.

We took a tour of Crossroads at Northglenn's assisted living. It was clean and the location was ideal. The staff was good and they were all very friendly. I like the layout of the facility. It was something convenient for my mother so it was good.

My mom was a resident of Crossroads at Northglenn. We don't like the company and we're unimpressed with their service. They were short-staffed, so they couldn't do a lot of things. There were a lot of things that the ball got dropped. They just couldn't keep up. And there were miscommunications because they were short-staffed. The staff were good to us. But they neglected my mother a lot. The food was pretty good, and the place was beautiful on all counts. They have activities but my mother didn't want to participate too much. They had a lot of things in place that were good, but they dropped the ball on several issues. We liked what we saw when we toured but it just didn't work out.

My sister-in-law is at Crossroads at Northglenn. The community is fairly small. My aunt was there about six years ago, so I was kind of familiar with it. They seem to be on top of things. They have a lot of activities for the residents there. They're pretty much helpful as far as I can tell. My sister-in-law is very independent. She doesn't rely on anybody at any time, so this is a big change for her, but I think they're doing great. They have chair exercises every morning. They have a working group. They could walk around the whole facility inside. It goes like in a big square, so if the weather is bad outside, they have a place to walk. They have crafts. They go on like a Walmart run. Every once in a while, they'll say, 'If you want to go to Walmart, sign up.' They go out to lunch or dinner once in a while and you have to sign up for that. They have bingo. They have groups that come in to entertain. It's really good. They provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And if my sister-in-law wanted a snack in the afternoon before dinner, she could always go down and get something like yogurt, an apple, or something like that. They give a menu and if there's something on there that the resident doesn't like, they could always order a salad, a soup and sandwich, or something.

Let me tell you about a day in the life of my mom at Crossroads…..she wakes this morning not feeling well and headed for a migraine headache. An aide checks on her in the late morning and takes the time to tease her about being in bed all morning and takes the time to refuse her medications because “she is in and out of it” but doesn’t take the time to notice she is in full migraine mode. She leaves. No one checks on her again. I call and hear the sickness and pain in her voice at about 6 pm so I attempt to reach someone at the facility to get her some help. Management and activities do not work weekends and the staff that is there is insufficient at best. No surprise, no one answers, I call again, and again and again and again, as it is a sort of an emergency. The staff never answers but they take the time to block my phone number. I get in the car and head over. As I arrive someone is finally about to go in her room. The male aide can’t help her go to the bathroom and so he is trying to get a female….but they aren’t coming. I take over, excuse the male and help her myself. My son and I get her to the bathroom, get her something to drink and get her the migraine medicine so she so desperately needs. We stay for a short while, make sure she is resting and leave with a promise to communicate at 9 to make sure she is ok. If that is the kind of experience you are looking for then send your loved one here.

My mother-in-law moved there a couple years ago. At first it seem nice. She did complain about the food not being good. Then Covid hit and they were in lockdown forever. Everyone was vaccinated and they were finally allowed out. They have no staff everyone has quit. My mother-in-law laid in her own filth for hours bringing the emergency bell for help and no one came to help her. They would leave her medication that she had to take at a regular hour every day on the sink. Not giving it to her in person and making sure she took it. On top of that they gave her someone else’s medication. She ended up with a UTI. Went to the ER where the doctor said there looks like elder abuse here. She was filthy dirty. She said she hadn’t had a bath in three weeks. This is not acceptable. A complaint will be filed. My mother-in-law had people looking in on her every day relatives. I feel sorry for the poor people that have no one to check on them. This place should be closed down

I can say that the staff genuinely care for the people living there. I never had to question whether or not things got done, whether that be from management, or care staff to houskeepers, and kitchen staff. The food was great and the atmosphere was homey. My brother loved it there, and when he got sick they made sure to help coordinate hospice care with a great team. Overall I think they do a great job and are compassionate people.

I couldn’t ask for a better place for my dad. He calls Crossroads home. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Management is very involved. Food and activities are amazing. My dad was not social and now I can never get him to answer his phone. When I visit he’s socializing and participating. Never in his room. Thank you Crossroads

I was at Crossroads at Northglenn. The place was nice, the rooms were nice, but the people weren't nice. I was one of the youngest people there, but the manager didn't like me. It was assisted living, and I paid $4,500 a month, but she wouldn't let anyone help me anymore. At first, they did it when I moved in, but then it kept getting worse and worse. I would ask for help but they would say, "We're not allowed to help you." It was crazy because they literally didn't do anything for me. Also, they weren't allowed to bring me food or anything. The food was absolutely horrible. They got a new cook, and they said that it was supposed to be getting better, but it got worse and worse. I spent money buying food even though I was paying for it there. It was just horrible. However, the activities were wonderful. The man that ran the activities was wonderful. He was totally the polar opposite of everyone else there. He was great. They had exercise classes, and they had people come in to play music. It was very nice. On Monday, we went on a bus to Walmart and that was really fun. Once a month we had lunches out at restaurants, which I always did so that I could get out of there.

I had a very close friend, like a sister, spend her last months at Crossroads. The entire staff from administration to maintenance and cleaning were so caring and personal. Crossroads staff keeps close watch over their residents and knows them personally. Administration, serving staff, activities, maintenance, cleaning, CNA's worked as a team, going out of their way to provide food she'd enjoy especially when she didn't feel like eating, dress & attractively braid or style her hair, take her to activities that would keep her socially active. Knowing that my "sister" was being watched and cared for brought much comfort and peace to my heart, and I am grateful that she was surrounded by such love during her last days on this side of Heaven.

Crossroads at Northglenn has been great. The food is phenomenal. They're always doing a lot of social activities, but Dad likes walking and sitting with the other residents. The place is beautiful, clean, and well maintained.

Crossroads seemed like a pretty nice place, but it was a little more expensive. I did know 2 residents there that I visited in the last 2 years, and I resupply refreshments there. I do not have anything negative to say. Everything looked clean and nice. They've got a physical therapy room.

My mother now lives in Crossroads at Northglenn. The staff is very helpful. She doesn't complain about the food. They have a lot of activities. She doesn't use the common dining room, because she likes to be alone, but it's nice. She is in a studio, and it's very large. We did look at one-bedroom apartments and the shared rooms. I was impressed most with the cost. The residents and the staff are friendly. It's very clean and it smells very clean.

I liked Crossroads; it was clean, cheery, and closest in price range to anything we might be able to handle. They have Bingo, they do day trips, they have crafts, and they do a lot things to keep the people entertained. I liked the bird atrium that they have, and my mom liked birds. When you pay the price, everything was all inclusive. They have doctors and nurses in place. The staff was informative, they did a very good job, and I liked what they had to offer.

The staff of Crossroads at Northglenn was very helpful. The rooms were very small, but they are clean. We saw the dining room, and it looked like they had good meals there. It was very secure. However, it was not a locked down facility. A person can walk out, and my brother should not be able to walk out because he needs to not be by himself.

My mother lived with my family for over ten years and was at the point where she needed more help. She was also isolated and spent all her free time watching tv. I wanted to get her more help and find her a facility that had a fun social enviornment. I talked with the residents and they had nothing but positive things to say about the staff and they love all the planned activities. My mother has been in this facility for over a year and her experience had been great. She goes to all the activities and her mental awarness has increased a lot. She even uses words that I never heard her say before. The staff has been great and they are all her new friends. I am relieved that she is happy and found a good place to live.

I've been to Crossroads several times to do assessments for clients. They offer assisted living but not memory care. Thornton is about 20 minutes north of Denver. And Crossroads is just off a major street, so it's easily accessible--though a little noisy. Parking is good. The staff, from what I've seen, isn't very good. They always seem hurried, unhappy, unprofessional. I see a lot of tattoos and piercings. And they're not very caring or attentive. For the higher functioning residents, the activities are pretty good. But there's not much 1:1 time for those who are more isolated. And the food is mediocre, institutional. The rooms are outdated--they have an institutional feel. It looks like a middle-class motel, with about 80 apartments. One pro: Couples can stay together. And residents can bring their own belongings. They also have an RN on staff; that's a plus.

The aisles were very small, it was very hard to get through with patients in the isle. Also, the celiings were very low, it felt claustrophobic. It was also very very warm, I know it is supposed to be warm, but I have sang at other nursing homes before and they were not as warm as this one. Also the parking is very odd to into, and there aren't enough parking spots. However, the workers there are very nice, and there is a good sized cafeteria as well. All in all, I rated this a 3 for there were/are more negatives than there are positives.
