Melody Living Assisted Living & Memory Care is a beautiful place. I made an appointment with Sebastian who showed me their memory care facility and thought this would be a great place for my mother. Before my mother could be accepted into their facility, she had to be evaluated. The person who evaluated her was Monica. Monica met with my mother and me and the interview went well to where Monica accepted my mother into their facility. They wanted her to move in that Friday, but I wanted to wait until the following Friday. As we were getting ready to leave, Monica and Sebastian walked ahead and talked about my mother. This made me a little uncomfortable because I wasn't sure what they were talking about. A little about my mother. She is German and a little stubborn. She gets along great with other people, just not her family. The following week she was to move in, she and I got into an argument. My mother's caseworker, Amanda who works a Pace, let Monica know about our argument and Monica left me a message stating she decided to disenroll my mother (two days before she was to move in) because she does not want problems. My mother has Alzheimer's disease. Rarely does she get upset and agitated, but it does happen because it is part of the disease. I guess they do not know how to handle people when they get upset. I have tried several times to contact Monica to find out what was said and discuss my mother's behavior, but she refuses to call me or even text me. So, I left a message for their Director Chia, who still has not contacted me. As of today, I am relieved that my mother is not enrolled in their program. If they cannot talk to me about this small issue, what would happen if something more serious occurred?

My mom was at Melody Living Assisted Living & Memory Care. I don't have a very good review for that one. There just wasn't enough help or activities. There were no vehicles to take people to the hospital across the street. They had a volunteer there, and he had a key to go into everybody's room. My mom didn't like that because he is not an employee. He would go up to her room and open the door and say, 'Hey, you want to go to bingo?' That just wasn't right: a man opening a lady's room. My mom went down and told them that she didn't appreciate that. I would say they were slow to react, but he's no longer there. They got rid of the maintenance guy, and they got a whole team now. The interaction with the staff is minimal because there's not enough. My mom had a one-bedroom apartment. It's a beautiful place, but that's about all there is. My mom tried to get an appointment into the beauty shop, but they don't get to you. It's just nothing worked out there.

I had scheduled a tour for Saturday the 11th to see the assisted living apartments. When I got there I was told by the receptionist that the person who does tours had stepped away?? I had spoken to a lady named Natalie days prior about my mothers situation. No one called me to let me know my tour was canceled. I drove from Divide Colorado to see this place!! I will be moving my mother in law in elsewhere. Thank you for wasting my time!

Melody Living Assisted Living & Memory Care was brand new, and it's very posh. I think they went a little overboard with the weight rooms and things like that, which personally my father-in-law would not use. The prices were pretty high. The people were nice and it was a nice facility, but it didn't fit our situation. We didn't see very many residents there because it was after lunch and they were probably all back in their rooms resting. I didn't see a whole lot of residential activities going on, so it was very quiet. They had a beautiful courtyard that faces the whole range of mountains and they've got a little playground for when grandkids come. It's a beautiful facility. The staff looked nice, but a little pushy.

I toured here for my mom. It's a very new facility and it's beautiful. The inside is very beautiful, and there are mountain views from the windows that are also very nice. The staff was very professional, courteous, and very friendly. I saw a lot of day rooms, a library, and a dining facility.

It was beautiful and it has great views of Pikes Peak. They're very family oriented and family friendly, with special areas for kids depending on their age. So, there's stuff for young kids and stuff for teenagers. The executive director really knows what she's doing. She was very personable, kind, and calming. I've been through quite a week with my grandmother trying to figure out what we're going to do with her, because her medical needs became imminent. It was very quiet and calm, and the residents I saw seemed very happy. The room I saw was perfect for my grandmother, and they have lots of options. So if my grandmother likes something much smaller, like a studio, they have that and all the way up to basically suites with full kitchens. They're very flexible and have options. I really liked that there was an activities room on the first floor where the dining room was so that people didn't have to go from the dining room up to a different level for activities. They had alcoves at the end of every wing that were like sunrooms. They were really nice. They have a dedicated art room, which I really loved, along with the art activities room. There's an art teacher on a schedule, but you can go in and use the art room any time you want, and they encouraged that. There were lots of little places if you wanted to sit by yourself and be comfortable outside of your room. There are lots of places where if you wanted to be with people, you could be with people. I got to see everybody sitting there as I was leaving. Everybody was sitting in the center of the room, talking closely together. You could tell that they had chosen to sit down and visit, and they all looked very happy. From my understanding, the food is really good. The receptionist was impressive. I could actually see the nurses in the middle area, and they were going about their business but keeping an eye on everybody too.
