I wasn't really happy with Thousand Oaks Home Care III. It was just too expensive. It looked like somebody was coming from Beverly Hills into a rest home, the facility is too far over the top, and it didn't seem that comfortable at all. It was really ritzy, and they had a 100-gallon saltwater aquarium. The staff was knowledgeable, but they were kind of more like the upper butler-type of maid service with not necessarily too much feel. They're too sterile, and there was nothing warm about it. There were people watching TV and some people sitting on the couch and talking. The facility was fantastic as far as overall look.

I can't tell you what a perfect fit TO Home Care was for our family and for dad in particular. All of the caregivers are such beautiful and truly loving human beings! After a short while I felt part of their family and they are forever part of our family. My favorite story about their extreme care, is when picky-eater dad told them he would prefer eating his favorite food - In-n-Out burger. They promptly got up from the dinner table and ran 15 miles to get him is In-n-Out burger. When dad was put on a puree diet, they even got his fresh burger and put it in the blender. Can you believe that? Cecile even paints the female client's nails if they wish, and she lovingly showers and dresses them so beautifully. Every resident at the place is full of smiles, and seems to be very happy and well cared for. There are typically three caregivers present for the six residents - you won't find that anywhere else. The caregivers woke every two hours at night when dad was on his last days to be sure he was OK for the night. As far as the residence goes, it is super clean and truly a beautiful home with wood floors, two gurgling water features, a huge covered patio in the back yard with brand new BBQ, fruit trees, parakeets (the two parents had four babies while dad lived there!), two gorgeous fish tanks, and a vegetable garden that Orland proudly tends to serve fresh vegetables to the residents. I can't give this place a better reference....they FAR exceeded my expectations!
