Our family visited the two board and care homes owned by this couple. They immediately took a deposit from us without doing any paper work or giving a receipt one month in advance - because the current resident was still living in the room to be occupied by our mother. When we told them we could not move our mom after all (within 24 hours of them taking our money) because she had begun transitioning (dying) they refused to give the deposit back. On our visit, the owner (RN) was talking badly about one of her current residents. We had to ask her to stop because it was unprofessional. The entire time we felt pressured. We will be turning this case over to an attorney.

I visited Our Home, and I felt that the person I spoke to was trying to give me a sales pitch. She really didn’t ask me what I was looking for. I didn’t care for the place.

The grounds and the backyard are quite nice. The home has ramps that have built in so for residents who can't negotiate the steps so they can be wheeled in and out of the wheelchair. Everything else in the place is just basic, nothing noteworthy as far as living in and out of apartments. The staff don't seem to be particularly helpful as far as my stepmother's condition. The husband and wife team who are giving care to the residents are fine but there are two caregivers that cover for them that I'm not very happy with.
