"Belmont Village Senior Living Los Gatos is a nice facility. It's less than a year old, so everything is shiny and new. One thing I noticed is, they didn't have handrails on hallways to assist people who might be able to walk but needed a little steadying. They had a molding, but I don't think it was sufficient as a handrail. It was semi-high rise; it might have been five stories. The activity room and movie room and so forth were centrally located. They were on the second and third floors, and they had a Josephine's restaurant on the first floor. The rooms were smallish. The studio especially, was smallish, but the 1-bedroom was nice, but it was very pricey. I only met with the Marketing Director. The facility is very good; it's laid out so you don't have to go too far to get to things."

"Belmont Village was nice. It was totally different that the other one I have visited. It was for people who do not like to go outside much. There was not much of an outside property, but that is typically OK with older people. The person I spoke with was very friendly. The rooms were small. "

"Oakmont of San Jose seemed very new, it's small, and there's not a lot of people that live there. I think there's only 75 people that live there. Everyone seemed to know each other, and overall we had a good impression of it. The outdoor space is not very big, a small courtyard, but very well kept. One person there seemed very nice, and we met the activities coordinator. He seemed enthusiastic and helpful. They had board games, they have a walking club. The day we were there, they were having a pamper day so residents could come in and have their nails done whenever they wanted during the day. I thought the rooms were surprisingly big, they looked very new, and I thought they were beautiful."

"The Watermark at San Jose has been open for several months now. We've met some of the staff but not enough to evaluate them. We've met the chef and the manager and it's all positive. It's very nice and it is a little less expensive than the other place. We had lunch and we were unimpressed. I wouldn't give the lunch any more than a three. The presentation was not very good. The plating was less than what you would expect in a nice restaurant."

"I toured Atria Willow Glen. It's beautiful. It looked like it was excellently run and very, very well maintained. If I had mobility issues or a decade older, I would certainly consider it. Of course they're very changed now because of the coronavirus restrictions, but in a good way. They're ideal actually. However, I realized that I don't belong in a place like that yet. The person who showed me around was very nice. I thought how clean and well cared for it was. The sizing and the amenities are exactly right. It's beautifully located and well maintained. They have a lot of activities. Even with the coronavirus separation, it was Veterans Day and they were doing special activities for their veterans. The staff seems to know each other. They have what seems to be very long-term people, so the staff seems to enjoy living there. I was very impressed. I was there maybe an hour and a half, but I looked through their menu, I saw their kitchen, and their public spaces, and I saw a couple of apartments. There were residents out walking and I talked to them. They even have a lovely dog park, so people can have pets. It's a quiet place, but there are other apartments around. They have buses and shuttles and many activities. I was really impressed with it."

"Belmont Village Sunnyvale was quite inviting. It was very nice. They had a nice little garden and lobby kind of community area. There was nothing negative about it that I could tell except up in the memory care -- I felt that it wasn't a place for my father. The problem was, in the memory care, they lock them in the room at night because they have to by law or something, and that really didn't sit very well with me. I was very impressed by the administrator that we met with. She was really exceptional and very helpful, and, as it turned out, they didn't even have any opening, but she still went above and beyond to give us information and guide us to what might be an alternative for us. "

"My mother moved into Juliet Stephen RCH. It was a very good experience. Their response time when you push the button is so far it's always been under a minute. That's a huge thing right now. It's like a three-star hotel as far as their amenities. They have a parking lot, a patio, and a deck. I've tried a little bit of the food here and there, it's good. It's better than nourishment. They have pretty much whatever you want. I liked the staff and that every room there has its own sliding glass door and private entrance. However, the bathroom is getting really worn and needs to be upgraded."

"The Parkview RCH#2 is very nice, and the people are very nice. It's assisted living, and my wife moved there. She is currently out again because she's hospitalized. They provide activities like taking them out a little bit. Most of the elderlies are in wheelchairs, so they put them out in the backyard and do some light exercise or things like that. They make them comfortable. The residents get 3 meals a day. If they have a favorite food, they can ask for their favorite food."

"The forum was very nice. They had small duplexes with small garages. But it was too expensive and the biggest thing was you had to buy your unit. It was real estate transaction so you would have to pay real estate taxes and I didn't like it. "

"Atria Sunnyvale was very clean and to me, that's super important. The gentleman seemed to know the people and the whole physical imprint of the place, which was nice. He was knowledgeable. They have a nice community area and I liked the fact that they all can get together and chit-chat. They don't necessarily have to do that, but it was nice that they could. I feel that's important because if they're just sitting in their rooms, vegetating, that's not good. So, I liked the fact that they encourage people to get out and socialize. We went to the eating area and they had just finished and I liked how they did it, gathering everybody and stuff."

"Sonnet Hill Senior Living is a good place. Dad has been in the memory care for a week now. Price was a big factor as to why we chose it. It is within our price range. It is a smaller community, and it is new and clean. The people are very kind and helpful. They have very good meals. They offer activities to the residents, and dad has been able to participate in one or two of them."
