Due to the carelessness of the staff and entire healthcare facility, my grandfather died from COVID-19 which was spread by one of the staff members in the center. He could have lived much longer if it wasn’t for this healthcare center’s recklessness. Now there are 43 COVID-19 positive residents confirmed in the center where less than 60 residents resides and 23 COVID-19 positive staff confirmed. Never trust this healthcare center with your loved one, even after COVID. They should have been more cautious and put rules and regulations in place for the staff working there. They should have done more to ensure the safety of the residents. Shame on you, Broadway Healthcare Center!

Broadway Healthcare has Mandarin-Chinese speakers, which is kind of important for my mom who does not speak English very much. The staff is very helpful. Whenever we have questions, they answer us, and if there is any issue or problem, they will call us promptly. My mom has her food brought to her, and the food is OK. My mom is in a limited diet. For her dietary restrictions, it is good for that. They have 4-person rooms and 2-person rooms, and my mom has a private room to herself with a private bathroom. It is not super fancy. It is kind of a hospital room, but it is clean. It seems kind of safe.

My mom is in a nursing home called Country Villa. She has been there for a few months now. A friend of mine recommended this one. I love this nursing home. She is in a shared room with another patient, so it is very small. They have to share four people in one bathroom. However, what I like best about this facility is the staff. They're very helpful. They are really nice, caring, and very accommodating. The first week was kind of rough for my mother but then after that I can see that she is very happy right now. She jokes around with some of them. The staff is just excellent. Their social worker was even kind enough to offer me some help with finding an assisted living for her when time comes. Overall, I'm happy with where my mom is right now.

I am a pastor and consultant. One Saturday every month, I visit the residents of Country Villa Broadway Healthcare Center. As a member of Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena, there are several members who are also residents. I am there to visit them and serve communion. When arriving at 9am, the staff seems alert and ready to work. There is a community calendar in the main hallway to let you know of the main activities throughout the month. There are also photos of previous events highlighting the residents.Entrusting a facility or service to care for your loved ones can be a daunting and thankless responsibility. I do not have any family members who are in that situation yet. My suggestion is to gather as much information as possible and talk to as many people who have first hand experience about the facility or service.Overall, my impression is that Country Villa Broadway Healthcare Center is competent in its duties to care for the residents. The staff usually has limited time to talk but do smile and acknowledge you. They seem to always be doing something.
