We happened to be in San Francisco and visited Autumn Glow assisted living facility while searching for a place for our aunt to live in the region. The building looked well maintained. The backyard featured many nice seating areas. We liked that this was a smaller facility because it appeared that the ration of staff care to resident was a bit higher than others we've seen. Each room was nicely decorated and furnished and had lots of fresh air and light. The colors throughout the building were soothing and comfortable. The seniors could easily socialize, play games, read, watch TV and participate in many other stimulating activities. The dining rooms included both casual and formal options. The menus offered a healthy mix of food options. The food we saw looked nutritious, delicious and smelled really good, also. The snacks also looked interesting and healthy with a nice mix of nutritious options. We also liked that they encourage drinking plenty of fluids for healthy hydration each day. The private rooms were tastefully decorated with a homey, light and airy atmosphere. Each unit had nice views of the surrounding area. Bathrooms were designed with safety seats and rails. They often take the seniors into the San Francisco metro area to enjoy all kinds of cultural events, boat rides, nature walks and a wide variety of other stimulating activities. The facility can accommodate all levels of ambulation. The residents all looked very well taken care of by and seemed content with the kind and caring staff. It was clear that the seniors were enjoying this peaceful living environment.
