"I have known several people who have lived at The Sequoias San Francisco. My cousins live there now, and in both cases, they've been very happy there. I had lunch with them while I was there, and the setting was good. The only reason I wouldn't go further with it is that it's in San Francisco, and I'm more interested now in the East Bay. The food was quite good, particularly because it had a range of dietary choices. I tried to be a vegetarian, and there were lots of good options. The staff members seemed quite friendly, but I didn't have very much interaction with them. The common areas were quite nice. The dining room had an indoor and outdoor terrace to it. The apartments were nice, but there was a lack of good kitchen facilities. There was barely a kitchen, and that was the biggest drawback, because I wouldn't want to eat all my meals in the dining hall."

"Overall stay exceeded expectations. My wife got excellent personal care every day which was very consistent in personal hygiene, medications and therapy. My wife's stay was very comfortable and accommodating and although she has a major femur fracture the overall atmosphere made it possible for a very relaxing stay and progress to an extent where she could be comfortable to go home feeling confident that she can recover in the nearest future. There are particular staff who from the get go provided support and helped us make the right decisions these staff members include Rich and Rena from Social Services and special thanks to a charge nurse on the 2nd floor-TJ and CNA-Merlita. The entire management and staff should receive recognition for my wife's stay. I would recommend Pacific Heights to family and friends because the personalized care and attention I have seen is one of the best in the industry. I wish Pacific Heights all the best with their nursing and care for the future. Thank you Barbara and Dominic. "

"Victorian Post Acute (Kindred Nursing) is small, but nice, clean, and well run, and my father is liking it. The rooms are clean, nice, and small. He's in a two-bedroom, and he is being taken care of because he has MRSA right now. He has all of his medications, he seems happy, and everyone looks happy. He hasn't been there that long, but they've addressed all my issues so far. It doesn't have a horrible odor. There are people playing music, and they have games. He will be there for 20 days, and he will get occupational and physical therapy."

"I toured the San Francisco Towers. The facility is beautiful and meticulously maintained. Everything about it is lovely, thought about, and polished. It is highly secure, which is very important. The apartments are good size. The small ones are well sized and they have a range of apartments. The staff was very professional, very knowledgeable, and very gracious about everything. The dining area is lovely. I did not sample the food. They have exercise classes. They have movies and performances and clubs. There are all sorts of things to do and you're right in the middle of the city. So there is a bus line and streetcar line right outside the front door. That's one thing that draws me to it. It's so close to the Performing Arts Center of San Francisco."

"I visited my grandfather while he stayed here a few weeks. The place is quite lifeless and depressing besides the night security guard who is a solid man. The staff does their job but that is about it. I understand it is difficult to be upbeat and motivated for a job like their's but the effort just is not there. My grandfather even mentioned he saw staff members stealing belongings and money from patients who are incapable of being aware. Lastly, he also mentioned the food was horrible; it was so bad he had to drink plain milk instead. I don't want to grow old... "

"I would rate this facility a 10 star if that was a possibility. The administrator, social workers and case manager are excellent caring people. They always take time to listen to me and address my concerns. I would recommend private citizens to stay here nonetheless patients after a brief hospital stay. "

"I had volunteered at Laguna Honda about 5 years ago before their renovations, and recently visited to see the new building. My impression of the new Laguna Honda is unreservedly positive. For one thing, the building is full of enthusiastic and kind volunteers, facilitated by a new and much more helpful volunteering system online that makes it easy to search for opportunities. The new facilities are state of the art, much nicer than any facility I have ever visited family members in, and everything is new and sparkling clean. The patients have a lot more privacy than I have seen in comparable facilities, and in addition to traditional patient care areas there is a lot of space for art therapy, activities, etc. "

"Mission Bay Convalescent Hospital is surrounded by wonderful hospitals like UCSF, Kaiser Permanente and Sutter Health. You do not need to worry if the patient needs immediate medical attention. I rated this 5 stars not only because of it's location but also because of it's amazing services and caring staffs. "

"My mom had been to The Avenues for rehab. My mom enjoyed the services for that particular mode. The staff was qualified and helpful and that's from what I observed as well as what my mother experienced. She appreciated them. They were competent and good. The appearance is adequate. My mom enjoyed the food. There's a higher percentage of the Asian population there and so there was an accommodation for that which was recognized, and she liked that. My mom participated in the activities, and she enjoyed it. What I observed was this session, which involved singing and group participation."

"San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living is so large, and my friend has a tendency to feel completely lost. They showed me a studio. It's quite good, but there was an industrial sense of the whole place that I didn't like. It was too large and more impersonal. It was very clean. It just felt like a business. They interviewed me and I got a feeling of it as a business rather than a home. I didn't have a feeling of outside space. They have all of the amenities. It's all in very good condition because it's new. I didn't feel a warmth there. The staff is very intelligent, but very businesslike, so there's a lack of warmth and a lack of welcoming. It just didn't seem right, but maybe I was there on a bad day."

"My grandmother stayed at St Francis Heights Convalescent. It was clean for the most part, and the management was pretty responsive. The social work department seemed understaffed. The rooms are pretty small, so it’s hard to navigate with a wheelchair. The physical therapy department was pretty good, the cost was OK, and it was reasonable for what you're provided. Some of the nurses weren't that friendly, and when I needed an update on how my grandmother's doing, they'd just say, "She's fine." They should be specific other than "She's fine." It would help if the staff is friendlier, especially for the family. "
