"We toured. It had a great layout because they were individual cottages. It had a more home feel than a facility feel, which was nice, and the staff was extremely knowledgeable."

"I went to look at The Palms at La Quinta, and they were welcoming. There was a little chalkboard there saying, "Welcome." The receptionist who I spoke to was very kind, and she understood. The memory care is on the first floor but they do have two floors. And then she showed me what areas they have for the family to meet and move around. They answered all my questions. It was very nice. They gave me some freshly baked cookies, and I saw their menu. They have a chef who meets with the residents to discuss the menu and see if they like the menu. They can change the menus to whatever diet meets my mother's needs. The rooms are very clean. The whole place is very clean. You can have a private room or a shared room. They share a bathroom but not the rooms."

"I like Caleo Bay very much. The location would be perfect because it's less than one mile from my house, and I like the people I talked to there very much. The place was very clean and beautiful. The problem is that it is about $2,000 more expensive than the other place. I met just the person who was doing the interview, and he was fantastic, and also the receptionist."

"Stonewall Gardens is a wonderful place, very well-run, well-organized, rooms are very nice, and it’s a beautiful facility. If I could afford it, I'd be there. I'm sure the food is very nice from what I understand, and the dining facility is very nice. One nice feature I like about the facility is that the rooms all face outside so you're not walking long hallways, and they have little patios. The rooms were just excellent."

"I've been in Hacienda Senior Living Assisted Living & Memory Care a little over a year. I'm in assisted living. I take care of myself. They just give me my medication, feed me, and shower me, and that's it. It's very good. I love it here. It's not like some of the other ones that are real big. This is smaller and you get more care. I have my own room. They have a fountain outside the grounds and they have fruit trees here. They take good care of you. They're really nice. I really like them all. It's excellent food. They give you so much food. We don't have a lot of activities. They're in the process of hiring somebody to come in here and do activities with us. There's another section where people need more help, have Alzheimer's, and stuff like that. The people where I'm at can take care of themselves, and there are only about five of us in this area. Value for money is OK."

"My friend has moved into Bayshire Rancho Mirage. We found that it was the best value. It's very nice and very clean. They have a lot of activities. They have a skilled nursing facility attached to it. My friend was very sick and went from the hospital directly into skilled nursing and is still there. When he comes out of skilled nursing, they will move him to assisted living and they'll take care of him there. The staff there is lovely. Everybody there is nice. Everybody has a great sense of humor. They all go out of their way to be pleasant. You couldn't ask for nicer people. With regards to activities, they have bingo, karaoke, woodworking, crafts, musical numbers, and entertainment. They have a lot of amenities, and it's a very nice facility. It's the best value that we found. We get the most for the money there."

"I think Rancho Mirage was a comfortable, clean, and aesthetically pleasing place. All the rooms have beautiful views, either the mountains, or a beautiful courtyard. I think the staff and management were very nice. I think there should be more communication, and their nurses could be a little more attentive. It’s a great facility for rehab. "

"I went to Palm Desert Greens Country Club. I like the different apartments and the activities they have. They had nice apartments. They are on slabs, double-wides, and so forth. You're able to travel in the area on golf carts. They had crafts that my wife would be interested in. They had card clubs and putting clubs. They had miniature golf, a gym, and exercise things. The staff was very knowledgeable and very thorough in showing us around. It was going to be a purchase-type deal. It was very well kept."

"It is very nice and very pleasant in Villa Portofino. Everything is good. What I didn't like is that I have to buy a unit. I didn't want to buy one, I just wanted to rent. They have a restaurant as part of the building. They have a bistro and a store. It was nice, but it's just not for me. The staff was very nice and very helpful. I have no complaints. The facility is very luxurious. The apartments were very nice and very spacious, but it is more than I want. It is very good, but it is just not my taste. "
