"It was newer, and it looked very nice. The rooms I saw were studios; it was very clean, and both of them were of nice size and very nice. I looked at one on each floor. They have lots of activities, and they have rooms where they do activities. The staff was very friendly and very nice. "

"La Orinda Care Home was a little dated; it needed some remodeling. But the staff there was very, very caring. I've watched some interactions between the staff and some of the residents there, and they were just very caring. There was somebody there visiting, and the staff was just amazing."

"Welcome Home Senior Residence - Concord II is a locked facility with bells on the doors and a secure backyard. It only has six beds, and there are two people on duty at all times. They prepare three meals a day and do all the laundry. They charge extra for Comcast and other fees, like if you need extra care. My sister's room has a bed, a nightstand, and a nice little closet. It also has a dresser, her own bathroom with a shower, and a big, sliding door that goes out to the backyard, which I find to be very nice. I had lunch there and ate a sandwich, salad, cookies, and a glass of milk. There aren't a lot of activities, but there is a large TV in the living room and nice, reclining furniture. There is also a TV in her room. The caregivers are very interactive and very nice. "

"We toured Watermark at San Ramon. It was very comprehensive and clean, and the person who toured the place with us was very knowledgeable. The food seemed okay because we ordered from the menu. The facility was a very well-run place, but it was not suitable for what we were looking for."

"Magnolia Garden have nurses that come in. They had a wonderful patio outside with animals that live in the vicinity for the participants to feed. It’s a wonderful setting with a lot of big trees. It’s very pretty. They do have a person that’s in charge of activities, but they are limited because of space; if you get 10 people maybe to come to any of the activities that's enough. They had ice cream social, and the dining room was very nice. They’ve got a huge lobby; there’s not other separate rooms to play games. The rooms are more like a studio; it’s like a big large bedroom with a patio door that goes out to the patio and a bathroom. It doesn’t have a kitchen or dining facility in each of the individual rooms. "
