"My mom moved into The Village at Penfield, which is very nice. The people were friendly as well. Plus, she was closer to my sister in Penfield. Her overall experience was wonderful. It was an excellent transition for her. We had no issues. She's very happy there. The staff is wonderful, and the food is excellent, she says. There are activities they have every day that she enjoys. Her room is very bright, and it's nice that she can have her cat and bring her things in there. They have bingo. They have bus trips that they go on. They have trivia. They have a lot of different games and activities, and they work out in the morning."

"I am a fairly new resident (3 months). My daughter-in-law found this place for me. I am totally blown away on how good Elderwood is. The staff are, to a person, very caring and attentive to details. The sit-down meals are great. The facility is spacious, very clean and feels like home. Activities are another high point. I am surprised that I am saying this, but I have found my forever home."

"I went to Evergreen Place - Brockport, NY. What I like most is it's mostly on the first floor, although there's obviously a second floor. There are elevators. The people were very nice. It was clean and lovely. My experience with the staff was really great."

"My mom moved into Hilton East Assisted Living, and she is doing great. They're very accommodating. They're attentive to her needs. Everybody is great about answering any questions that we have. The place is clean and well kept. Things are set up a little differently because of COVID and the need for social distancing. They have activities. They have socially distanced bingo. They have a beautiful courtyard, a hairdresser, and a barber. They are very accommodating, but I think there were more options for activities prior to COVID."

"The facility is kept clean and tidy. But the most important thing is that the staff are caring, thoughtful, and always helpful. I am very comfortable having my brother stay there and not having to worry about him"

"I'm familiar with Seabury Woods because my mother lived there. However, it is private, so we weren't able to do that for my brother. It's a very good place. My mom passed away, but she was there for years, and it was nothing but a good experience. They're all very caring. They can't do enough to help you answer questions. For a small fee you could have a meal with your loved one, and the food is good. They would have spring dinner and fall dinner. They would make the dining area fancy like a restaurant. They would go out of their way to make things special. My mom's room was like a small apartment. It had a kitchen and a fridge, which she never used. She had a living room, a nice big bathroom, and all the pull cords. They do a lot to make the residents and their family welcome. They would have a party outside where they would bring in an orchestra-type band. They would do a cookout with burgers, hot dogs, and an ice cream truck. It was really very nice. There are activities for them to do. My mom took up painting. We never knew she could paint before, and the paintings that she did were amazing. They would go out to breakfast or lunch once in a while. They have an annual picnic at the Ontario Beach Park with their sister facility. My mom loved going on the big bus, and she was happy there. If you can afford it I highly recommend it, because you get what you pay for."

"The Village at Unity was nice. Their food was the best. I had a cauliflower crust pizza, and it was delicious. The rooms were kind of the same, but they were fine. The thing I like about them is that they are nice and bright. They weren't dark and gloomy like some of the others. They probably had the best transportation available, too. That would be one extra thing. They're good with their transportation."

"The people at The Village at Mill Landing are very nice. The place is clean and updated. It has services. The only thing I didn't like was there was an open stairway to the first floor. It's a lovely facility. They have a patio and also activities."

"My cousin just moved in and is very happy! She doesn't need nursing home care so this is perfect! The staff is very hard working and pleasant, she says the food is tasty and there is plenty of it, Melody, the director, has been terrific. She has helped us through every step of the process and has the patience of a saint! The place is clean and they have activities every day. I can't say enough for the safe, comfortable, and supportive "world" my cousin is now living in. I can rest now. Emily is home. Thanks "

"My father got to the Latta Road Nursing Home right on Latta. They were very very good to him. He was only in there a little bit before he passed. They had very very good hospice care. They were very friendly, very nice, and very attentive to both my parents. When my sisters finally get my mother to go home, they would call every couple of hours and would let her know how he was doing. They were very very nice to him. They played music in the room for him. It was a very much better experience. "

"i can't say enough for the entire Staff for the care my sister received at this Facility. The care and kindness shown to her was so wonderful for the approximate 2 yrs she was there. Also the cleanliness and special things everyone did for her was beyond their job description I'm sure. The Staff would come into her room and try to talk to her or take her outside to their garden area. Patience was something they all have and you need that with a person with dementia. At times it was difficult for me to talk to her and one of the staff would interject and suddenly thing improved. I can't think of a better place than Grande Ville for my sister in her final years. All I can say is God Bless them all. Thank you "

"My Mother has been living at RPH for about 5 years now. She lives on the 4th floor, the people with the greatest needs live on this floor. She has advanced Alzheimer's, which means she no longer recognizes her husband, myself, my siblings, her grandchildren or her great grandchildren. I have read some of the past reviews. When touring a facility it is hard to imagine what is important and what is not. I can tell you the food, the rooms, and the neighborhood are not important. The love and care ALL the staff show towards my Mother is what is truly important. This is NOT an easy job, and takes skilled and highly trained aides and nurses to deal with people with cognitive issues. But at RPH, they do it with ease. As for the food, my mother has gained 10 lbs since moving there, so she thinks the food is great. The building is old, the rooms are old, but "run down?" ... this seems a bit harsh… and “unsafe neighborhood”, this seems harsh as well. My mother thinks she's living in a 1st class hotel!"

"Norton Place Home would have been my second choice for Dad. The staff was very nice and friendly. They had bingo, dances, outings, and all kinds of activities. The whole place looked very nice."
