"I wasn't impressed with Wildwood Assisted Living. For one thing, when we walked in there, it smelled like pee. I didn't see an elevator. So, how did these people in wheelchairs get from the first floor to the second floor? The rooms were small. The staff who assisted us during the tour was nice."

"We found Cherrywood for my mom. I like the residential location. I like the caring staff. There is an effort for the residents to get to know each other, I like that too. My mom is well taken care of and likes the people. She says the food is good. She has been there since January. Regarding activities, that is something that needs to be addressed. There are not enough activities. They have bingo and an exercise class. They need to have daily activities for the residents to take part in. As for security and safety, it is excellent. "

"We looked at the Talamore Senior Living - Saint Cloud. It would have been fabulous, but it was way too expensive. It's just a very nice location. It's downtown, it's by the mall. It's got all kinds of good amenities there, you know, it looks like a lot of good socialization and skills and stuff like that. But as I said before, it was very expensive. So it would have been probably a big stretch for my mother. I don't know if that would have been feasible. And the fact that you can't just easily transition from going from just basic nursing or basic assisted living, you know, more like what happens if she has to go to the nursing home or what happens if she needs extra care? That would have been a more difficult transition. So, you know, that's good for someone who is maybe not ready to go into deep care assisted living, like having to have a lot of help with things. But I don't know. I mean, they had the facility for that as well. But because of the expense, and that was the first place we looked at, we just kind of shut the door on that a little bit because we just felt like it would have been too much for her. We just saw the apartment that was in assisted living. There are three apartments. There is one that's a studio and one that's a one-bedroom, and I think there was a two-bedroom as well. It's a brand new facility, so they were all gorgeous. The staff is good. There was an exercise room, there was a crafts room, and there were a lot of different activities there. There were a lot of good things, they had a little bar area you could use. There were a lot of good amenities there."

"I stayed at Skylight Gardens and that was a dump. It was a terrible place to live. Although the rooms were updated and were very nice, the outside, like in the lobby and in the hallways, were just terrible. It was run down, had dirty carpets, and they were not painted. Just unbelievably poor. They had bingo and games, but they didn't have any entertainment. They had a bus that they take people out to ride to the grocery stores and stuff like that."

"I liked it because it was close to our residence right now. It would only take half a minute to get to it. So, I liked the location for myself and access. So, that part was okay. The part that I didn't like was that there wasn't any direction to the main entrance. I pulled into the parking lot and walked the whole perimeter of it before I was able to locate the main door. So, that was a bit confusing. That was the second thing. Otherwise, if I'm looking just for my husband, it would be adequate. But living conditions for myself or together, no it wouldn't. As far as the person who gave the tour, experience-wise she was kind of confused as to what floor we were on and what room number. So either she was new or she just hadn't walked the floors enough to familiarize herself with the building layout. The facility is old. I'm not sure of the age of it. I had inquired if it was at one time an apartment building and converted into single dwellings. She didn't think it was only because there were no kitchen areas. It was kind of like a hotel or a motel, very simply, a closet, a sliding door around the bathroom, and I didn't care for the carpets in the areas."

"The rooms at Serenity Place on 7th were nice, but the cabinets were a bit dated. The place looked clean. They were having some activities going on when we toured it. They had a library and a little activity room where residents could do crafts and bingo."

"St. Cloud Benedict Court is a very good place and I'm very happy with them. My dad likes it there, he's happy and he wants to stay there even for the winter months. The staff is very good and very kind. The maintenance, the cleaning people, and the people bringing the meals are all top-notch. The room that dad has is very nice for him and he likes it. The bathroom is very close by to him. He's got a good view and his bird feeders are out front. He has a studio room with a living room, a kitchen and dining area, a bedroom, and a bathroom. They have bingo, counseling, music, and bus rides."

"We never got to see my parents at St. Benedict's Senior Community because they're locked down, no visitors. But they were treated so well. We brought clothes to them but you could only get to the front door and the staff took it from there. They're locked down due to COVID so we weren't able to see them. The place was beautiful, and my other grandma lived there too so I'm very impressed with St. Ben's. The prison is just right down the street from there, they look out the window and they can see that. They weren't allowed to do anything because of the COVID, and they weren't even able to see each other, so there were no activities. It's a whole community, they've got a nursing home, assisted living apartments, independent living apartments, and it has beautiful grounds. The COVID unit that they're in was sub-acute, it's part of the nursing home but it's also a branch of the hospital. So it's like they're getting hospital care. They were so good to them. My mom did not have complaints with the food."

"The Sanctuary at St. Cloud was excellent. They have beautiful rooms. It's a new building. I'm extremely pleased. They only have assisted living and memory care, and I'm amazed that a memory care place can be as lovely as that. The people really know their business and give you the information that you need. The service provided is wonderful. They can choose their meals so not everybody is eating the same thing. They have two dining rooms, so they don't have a large crowd of people in one. They have a very fine activities director, she is full of life, and she has volunteers who assist her. The staff is excellent, and they have nurses and CNAs, so the care seems very fine. My sister likes it very much. It's beautiful and very appropriate. I have no complaints."

"I like the small size of the Assumption Home Care. I like the caring staff. They're very thorough, and they are letting me know everything. The community is excellent. They update me all the time about my dad. Every day there is something. He is in hospice right now; an outside agency that I chose comes in."
