Talamore Senior Living - Saint Cloud

We looked at the Talamore Senior Living - Saint Cloud. It would have been fabulous, but it was way too expensive. It's just a very nice location. It's downtown, it's by the mall. It's got all kinds of good amenities there, you know, it looks like a lot of good socialization and skills and stuff like that. But as I said before, it was very expensive. So it would have been probably a big stretch for my mother. I don't know if that would have been feasible. And the fact that you can't just easily transition from going from just basic nursing or basic assisted living, you know, more like what happens if she has to go to the nursing home or what happens if she needs extra care? That would have been a more difficult transition. So, you know, that's good for someone who is maybe not ready to go into deep care assisted living, like having to have a lot of help with things. But I don't know. I mean, they had the facility for that as well. But because of the expense, and that was the first place we looked at, we just kind of shut the door on that a little bit because we just felt like it would have been too much for her. We just saw the apartment that was in assisted living. There are three apartments. There is one that's a studio and one that's a one-bedroom, and I think there was a two-bedroom as well. It's a brand new facility, so they were all gorgeous. The staff is good. There was an exercise room, there was a crafts room, and there were a lot of different activities there. There were a lot of good things, they had a little bar area you could use. There were a lot of good amenities there.

I did a tour of Talamore Senior Living-Saint Cloud. The place was very nice and very welcoming. The apartments were very nice and spacious. The property itself was very well maintained and well-kept. It looked very welcoming and inviting to live at. The one thing I disliked about it, is it's pretty big and maybe a little overwhelming. The staff was very nice and very helpful.

We went to Talamore Senior Living - Saint Cloud. Their memory care facility has very small rooms, and my mother needs her piano with her and things that comfort her, so that wouldn't work. If size doesn't matter, Talamore is excellent. Everything else about it was excellent. It's nice and clean, and the people were very friendly. It's right by a freeway, but you can't hear a sound. It's very well insulated. You can't hear anything. It's a very quiet and peaceful place. The staff was very knowledgeable and very pleasant. The level of care was very good. The rates were actually better than any place else. They were excellent. I was pleased that they had both Catholic and Protestant services. Everything about the Talamore was a cut above most of the other places. The assisted living apartments were excellent. Before my mother needed memory care, I would've taken Talamore over anybody else. They had wonderful apartments. The staff were happy, smiling, friendly, and very pleasant. They had a beauty shop and a whirlpool tub, and that's important for old people for their circulation. They had everything that you need.

Talamore Senior Living - Saint Cloud has everything for senior living. They go from independent living to assisted living and onto memory care, so it's a one-stop place and everything is there. The mail is indoors, the parking is indoors, there's a game room, a chat room, and a restaurant. It's a nice place. The rooms were very clean, very organized, and well situated. There is a theater, a gathering area where they play bingo, an area where you can come down and read the paper, a beauty salon, a little coffee shop, and a bistro too. I think my mother-in-law is going to like it. I think she's going to get along with everybody because everybody was just friendly.

Talamore Senior Living-Saint Cloud was very high-end and very new. The room that we toured had upgrades in the countertops and it was very spacious. We thought that the pricing was reasonable and the person that we met with was open to any kind of questions that we threw at her. She was very pleasant. It was a very convenient location. It was kind of tucked away, yet it's right off of Highway 15 in St. Cloud. They had lots of amenities, a beauty salon, a party room, a dining area, and all that other stuff. We liked it. It's going to be one that we will be seriously considering for my mother-in-law. The room was very generous in size. We looked at a studio apartment and it was 580 square feet. The bathroom was large with the sit-in walk-in shower, and then it had a nice galley kitchen, plenty of closet space. There were two closets in the apartment itself. Where we looked at, my mother-in-law would just be a few doors down from the nurses' station that they have on the floor, and just around the corner and down the hall from the beauty shop. On the main floor, they showed us a party room, a dining room, a gathering room, and a library. There are plenty of places to hang out if you had more than two guests coming to celebrate a birthday or whatever. It would be very easy to accommodate a little bit larger group just to have a fun afternoon together. They said the meals are very health conscious, so they make sure that there are plenty of choices available that are geared more towards a healthy living lifestyle. However, the facility is very large. I would say that someone new to that building could be overwhelmed by the size of it. It's very big and obviously can accommodate a lot of residents.

I checked Talamore Senior Living for my mom. We looked at a couple of apartments and talked to somebody. They walked us through the place, and it was a really nice place. They do have assisted living, but we looked at their independent living. It had lots of light and was laid out nicely. It just seemed like they knew what they were doing when they put the place together. It's pretty new because the staff said that they have apartments that nobody has moved in yet. Because of Covid, they had to kind of put things on hold. It's nice, clean, and bright. They have activity rooms, and it seemed like they had a lot of things for the residents to do. There's even a place where you can garden outside and stuff. I'd move there myself. We only said hi to the front desk person, and then somebody showed us around. I only talked to one person, and she was very, very nice. She even called back to see if mom was interested.

The lady at Talamore Senior Living was nice and very helpful. She took me all around. The rooms were comfortable looking. She showed me double rooms, and they were corner rooms. The only thing is the view is the shopping center, but otherwise the building was nicely laid out. Activity was a bit limited, but only because of Covid. I didn't see anything, but bingo. There were some activities, but there weren't many people there yet. They were just really bringing people in.

I toured Talamore Senior Living - Saint Cloud. The tour was pretty good. They took care of me because I had a diabetic reaction. It was very nice, clean, and new. It was only two years old and big. I only talked to three staff members, and they were pretty friendly. I saw one room and it was spacious and clean. It was a handicapped one. It was kind of odd in the closet though, I thought. There is like a linen closet in the bathroom, but there is not really a closet there. I do not know what it is going to cost because they gave me one price and then quoted a different, higher price to my social worker. They gave me a chocolate chip cookie and some orange juice because I was having a glucose fit and I came around okay.
