I have my husband in a nursing home called Spring Creek Health And Rehab. I love the people there. They treat both him and me with a lot of respect. He is in better health than he was when he went in. They keep him clean. Their surroundings are clean. They're in a nice part of town. I really don't have anything bad to say about them. My husband has been there for five weeks. He is there for long-term care. It is smaller, and it's not really huge. Being the kind of person I am, I would love to go in and update it a little bit, but as far as everything goes, it's a nice place. The appearance on the outside is very nice. His room had to be a shared room. They have things for them to do. They have bingo and other things to do with the patients. I don't know exactly what all they are, because my husband is not interested in any of them. I don't know if they take them anywhere, but they will take them to their doctors' appointments and things like that. For the most part, they have good food throughout the week, but on the weekends, not so much. On Sundays, for example, sometimes they'll just have sandwiches or whatever. I would say if any area was lacking, the food would be the only thing.

My good friend of mine is still in Spring Creek. Right now with what the doctor said I'm thinking of bringing him home this Saturday. But he's still going to meet all the help he can get. He still needs a lot of physical therapy, a lot of work. The nurses in Spring Creek are wonderful and the staff were all good but the nursing home and the facility itself is not very good. I wouldn't bring him back here. I think they were all good with bringing him his medicine and the nurses are good. If you want anything they go all the way to help you. He's been in this facility for almost 30 days now. The first 2 weeks he was never out of bed, not one day. That's why I'm going to take him out there and bring him home and go ahead and see if I can just get help at home for him.

This facility was for the most part clean. The heater in my mothers room did not work at first but when she reported it, it was fixed within the day but was still very noisey. the food was good for the most part and the people friendly. the staff was great and answered any questions i had. they allowed me to eat with my mother, for a small price whenever i wanted, for a small price. they gave my mother physical, occupational, and speech therapy eventhough my mother was only there for rehab after a quadurple bypass. however, when mothers medicare ran out they could not keep her unless she agreed to pay, which was much to expensive for her. they were also severly understaffed whcih resulted in longer waiting periods when my mother needed her medication. Another complant i had was that almost anything she needed she had to buy for herself. We had to buy a new recliner for her because she needed a chair that would allow her to raise her feet to prevent swelling and they had no chair what so ever for her to sit in. they had no blanket for her to cover up with at night. had to buy her shampoo and soap and many other personal items that i thought should have been provided by the nursing home. My mother complained about the driver of the nursing home van that took her to important doctors appointments because she thought the driver was reckless and drove to fast for the speed limit. Plus she had high blood pressure and they did not monitor it. My mother also has diabetis and they continiosly put sugery items on her trey, and they had no heart healthy diets. She also has sever back problems and could not stand to sleep in her bed so she slept in the recliner that she had to buy to get any rest at all. Also her nurse button did not work at aqll times and even when it did the response time was awful. somedays days she was promised a bath and no one ever got around to giving her one.
