My friend was at St. Michael's Manor for three weeks. It's a very clean place. It is a personal house. Everything was very nice. There's no odor. They only had, at the time, six people. They had two nurses. The owner was there all the time, so it was like three to four people every time. They fed them. They took care of everything. They served breakfast on time and lunch around the same time. They had a jar with water and lemon for the residents, and they were very gentle and they were always there. They were watching TV, and somebody was sitting with them all the time. Every time I asked for information about anything, they were always willing to give me information or tell me how the night went. I was there at different hours, and she was always happy. She really loved the house, and she used to talk about the nurses. Her dementia turned very aggressive, and she couldn't sleep all night long, so somebody was there with her 24/7. They had a nurse right next to her watching her all night long. She's supposed to share the room with somebody, but because she was aggressive, she was alone in a single room. It was two beds; the other one was for the nurse who was there all the time. It is a beautiful house, very clean, and has light colors. Everything looked very well taken care of, like the kitchen was very clean. I was able to see everything when they were preparing the food. They were always washing clothes. Everything was clean and well-decorated. It looked like a real house. The owner was very kind. I really had a good experience with that house. They had very good meals. They had soup, vegetables, and meat. I even witnessed a birthday celebration for one of the people there. Everybody was around the table, and they had food, and they had cake for that person. I never witnessed any activity. The only thing I witnessed was that they were coloring, and they used to walk out to the patio, and walk around. Value for money was fair. If you don't have any money, it's kind of pricey. For the house, the care, and everything, it was good.
