We had my relative at The Inn at Freedom Plaza for three weeks for respite. They never got his medicine right. I gave them a list of his meds, broken down to what each med he gets per day, and they never got them right. Every day, my relative had to check his meds. It took them 25 minutes to answer his call when he needed to go to the bathroom. I went three times to the director to complain about things that were happening and she kept assuring me she would take care of it. I was not at all happy with the care that he got. One night, he didn’t even get dinner. His toilet was broken for two days and nobody came to fix it, and he couldn’t get the fan on and the light off because they were wired together. If he wanted the fan on, he has turn the light on, too. To top it all off, when we signed him in, he requested to have his showers on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. We put him in the place on a Sunday, but he got his shower Saturday only because I complained about it. I would never recommend that place or put another person in there. There were only two RNs for the whole building and all the rest were all caregivers. There were good things about the place, like they cleaned his room once a week. The staff was friendly and nice, but they were so overloaded with work that they didn’t have time for each individual resident.
